Just installed my new graphic card...but now i have a crappy wather.

I set water=3 and shader=1...but when in game, wather is orrible. I go aout from the game, open conf.ini again, and water is set to 1 again without i made any change and i dont know why!I want nice water now..i know i have also shader 3..so..why still i have this problem?

Is there someone that have a max graphic setting that i can use?

Oly nvidia cards can set their water to 3. Ati cards u have to set water 2 to get the same effect as water=3 for nvidia cards.

In short set yuor water=2. Its the same as water 3 that the nvidia cards are using.

but it dont looks good as i saw on some pics.

I mean, i can run water 2 also on my 9800pro...but i saw pics with stunning water effects...thing i cant have at the moment and i dont understand why..i thought shader 3 would help but seems not.

i mean...whats this?

Damn nice water and a very slight slide show on my rig. As Red-Baron mentioned if you have a ATI card setting it to 3 will not benefit you as setting it to 2 will. It is just the way the two different card manufacturers have designed their cards, both look nearly similar on optimum settings respectively.

Well firstly...its photoshopped with the glare off the window. Probably the contrast is tweaked. The water looks normal enough...you should be able to get that. The time of day and weather have a huge impact on what the water looks like.

Water=2 on the X1xxx series of ATI cards is the same as Water=3 on the nVidia cards m8. That is why you are seeing a bit of a white cap on top of that wave in the pic you posted.

sure..and playing at 1600*1200..but my water dont look like on the pic i posted...it have weaves, but the reflections arent like this picture...the water in the pic is really stunning...but cant have thing like that.

im running cat. 6.8 with ati tray tools using 2*AA and 8*AF at 1600*1200

can you post i pic for comparaison please? I will use your settings and see if something change.
