Very interesting reading. Where did you find it?
It would be nice if you could see a record of your past performance written this way in SoW:BoB; in handwritíng that's a bit easier to read http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif.

Note: There seem to be differences in the writing style; It seems like two sets of handwriting.

Hi Major,

I came across one of THESE (http://www.afterthebattle.com/tucklog.html) in an antique shop last year, and had to buy it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Though theres only 2500 around, I have seen them on a couple of web-shops.

It covers hi entire carees. From his first logged flight in an Avro Tutor on 2/10/1935 to his last logged flight doing high altitude testing in a Canberra on 20/2/54.

It is an exact facsimile.

Regards.

The 'different' handwriting is apparently from his tour of duty commanding the Hurricane squadron. It is possible that he assigned an enlisted clerk the duty of keeping up his logbook while he took on the responsiblities of his first squadron command.

My girlfriend bought me that very same book for Christmas. It's absolutely fantastic.

As stanford_ukded says, its amazing. The details like the rubber "Proficiency Of Pilot On Type" and "Total flying All Types" stamps give it a very real feel. As do the "Summary Of Flying Assessments For Year Commencing..." sheets which are glued in

If you want to get yourself a copy Monty_Thrud, do check out http://www.afterthebattle.com/home.htm

I think Ive seen two come and go on eBay.

Go on..... 'ave it.

Very nice post!

Would be excellent if I could actually read his bloody handwriting! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Super! I like the entry from 23-09-40.
Ran into 40 ME109's over London. Shot down 1.ME.109. Slightly shot up myself.
