Hi Tsisqua, Do you have a saitek Evo Force stick and if so could you share your joystick conf.ini settings. I'm having a hard time with the jitters.

Best wishes,
Weasel

Hi, Weasel!

My stick is a Saitek Cyborg Force, not the Evo. However, I wonder if it doesn't use the same profiling software, since all of the others seem to. I recomend having a stop over at www.saitek.com (http://www.saitek.com) , because they have quite a few downloadable profiles. I am at work at the moment, so I will check this evening as well, and see if my IL2 profile will work for your stick.

BTW, that Evo Force will probably be my next stick.

Talk witcha later, Mate http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Blitzpig_DDT my x45s kicked the bucket, I hate the look of the Ch joysicks an I hate light controls. Have you had any problems with the cougar?

Nope.

I have chosen the Hall Effect Sensor upgrade, but that was a choice, not a requirement. I suppose it's possible I did it before any real problems with the stock pots developed. But....there are replacement pots available and customer service is pleasant apparently.

As mentioned in other threads though, do be prepared to customize or modify it. Either because you want to, or because eventual wear forces it. Like a sports car, you will want to tweak on and change it, and it'll be higher maintenance than other forms of transport.

I'm planning some really wild mods too - when I get some time, but god knows when that will be.

You play LOMAC? It's *perfect* for that. But I love it for props too. Adds to the immersion IMHO. Much more than the sci-fi lights and look of the X-series, and provides some feel which is kinda like the control resistance the real pilots felt (ok, not as much, but more than a lightly sprung stick).

I also got the RCS (Rudder Control System - pedals) from a friend, but you can find them on eBay, and can also make them cheaply and easily too. Beyond recommended, almost reqiured. (IMPO. It's another immersion thing)

Ive got a set of CH rudder pedals but i dont know where to start with the cougar....whats a Hall Effect Sensor upgrade....sound like something off Jump To Lightspeed http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif.
How much am I looking at for upgrades, which ones will I need? Where can I get them from? How hard are the mods to install?

Hall Effect Sensors (or Hall Sensors for short) are non-contact sensors that provide the same function as pots. They are much more expensive than pots however, which is why joysticks use pots, to keep the final price down.

A community member by the name of CubPilot took the time and did the research and came up with a packaged mod that was a cinch to install. You could do the same yourself, but it won't be any cheaper in raw dollars, not to mention the research time. I forget what I paid for mine, honestly. I think it as a little over $100. Not too bad. (I'm broke, so it can't be expensive for me to do it. lol)

You can get all the info you need at http://cougar.frugalsworld.com

BTW - if the CH pedals are USB, they will have to be a second device in Windows (and anything that runs in Windows). If they are game/midi port, then they will plug right into the Cougar. They could, however, be modded to be analog quite easily. And the adapter might even work, not sure if it's been tried for that or not.
