I went to this back in 81 I had a drivers license and I didn't have to rely on my fols to take me somewhere they cared nothing about. So I grabbed my girlfriend and we went.

Oh was she ever excited to be there http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Must of did somthing right ended up my wife.

Well bear with me I took these with a state of the art Kodak 110 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I have literly been looking for these photo's for the last 6 years or so.

My wife recently had Back surgery, and my daughters have gleaned the house looking for photo's for her to put in albums.

Man those are priceless! Ive got a bunch like that from the mid 70s using a 110 well before i was interested in real cameras. Those are the Confederate Air Force's (now the more politically correct commemorative air force http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif) Texas Raiders and Diamond lil, both of which have been more extensively restored since then, and photographed rather extensively by me.

The L-5 is interesting to. Air shows are a blast. I just wish I had a gotten more interested in cameras back in the 60s when I was a kid. thanx for posting those.

And chicks usually like air shows; seems to make em all hot and gooey etc. Maybe it's the smell of avgas.

The man at the far right in the 6th pic from the top looks a little like Bob Hoover. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I too have those wonders of photographic history-110 pics.Mine are from Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, from around '78.

Where was the air show BTW?

Moline Illinios IIRC I know it was on the Ill. Side of the river I lived in Davenport Iowa back then.

I'm so glad I found them, I've wanted to share them with you guys forever it seems.

I can't tell you how many times I've tore through the house and attic looking for just those pics.

I remember my first airshow. I was 10 and allready heavily into aviation. I've read everything about it, stuck and loose. It was a small airshow but, I knew beforehand that an actual B-25 was coming http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Boy, was I excited http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif I've read some pretty impressive hero stories about it. Anyways, my dad took me to the airshow. The aircraft where pretty reach-able. So my dad made me climg over the fence and took my picture in front of my hero-aircraft, the B-25. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

I still have it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I believe the Texas Raider is back in the hangar undergoing an extensive refit that is hampered by a severe lack of funds, although it's been a while since I checked. She usually sits at Ellington Field here in Houston but I think they flew here somewhere else for the refit.

I took a ride in her back in '95 and it was AWESOME. The Gunfighter 51 snuggled in real close as they were doing some photo shoots for a brochure or something. It was really cool b/c I was sitting in the tail gunner position when he came up. I never saw him coming. One second I'm looking around at the view and the next thing I know, BAM, there he is about 50 yards away and closing. He got REAL, REAL, REAL close. Then he got closer. Did I mention that it was really cool?

I'll try and get them scanned in tomorrow. I know there is a shot of a P-39 in Russian markings, an A-10 and a Thunderbird T-38/F-5....
