Something tells me this has something to do with the fix cam positions in the FMB, but I'm no guru in FMB. Another part of me thinks it might be a hack of some kind.

This is just the kind of view system I'd always hoped flight sims would get around to offering. Placeable "cameras" fixed to various parts of a plane, or to other vehicles/objects. Sure would open up a whole new world in movie making.

But in this case it sure looks to me as well that this is a hack job. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Too bad...

It can be done in IL2FB 1.0 what I remember..
Somwhere a patch removed this "bug"

Im not sure its the same method used, but the result is the same.

The procedure was quite complex tho..
You had to place external camera and pan distance then use a small bug to switch to external camera and it would be different from the "locked" distances normally limiting views..

But I could be wrong about this... maybe its in 4.08m?

EDIT:
After looking at the video it seems its at least Pacific Fighters version, so Its got to be some mod to the view config.

The maker of this video, mr Keygetys was also the one who hacked an earlier version of the game to allow 6DOF...

It is almost certainly a related hack, which cannot be done anymore, unless you revert back to before the patch that fixed it and manage to get his hackcode...

I also think there are hookview settings in the conf.ini that can help with these views. Also possible to hook into the TIR library for moving the camera around (it works externally as well as internally) and locking it without having to hack the program.
