Heroic Flyers!

Apols for asking this, but I've searched and searched the forums and can't find anything....

Can anyone direct me to any material which will explain how the scoring is calculated in single and multiplayer games? The reason is curiosity - A kill can award a score of 200, 50 or 10 depending on .... what? Thanks!

if you suffer a collision , you will be deemed "the loser"

the game will say you were "shot down"

this is because you were either slower , faster , higher , lower , shooting , not shooting , steady , manouvering , arguing with the missus , flying a Jet , causing lag over coms , using a ball mouse . . . . . . . the game gets to decide & lets your bandit fly away after "shooting you down"

(because , obviously , he wasnt doing one of the above)

It's very simple, but I write this from my memory and I'm not shure wether thats up to date and 100% correct.

The game makes a difference between single engine fighters and 2+ engine planes.
If you shoot down an enemy fighter and land back at your base you will be credited 100 points.
Shoot down a B-25 f.e. and you will get 200.

If you shoot down a fighter and you are forced to crash land your aircraft in friendly territory you will get 50 points.
However, this is only if you do it over friendly territory.

If you bail out or die over enemy territory you will be considered dead (surprise), wich leads to the 10 points.
You will only get 10% of the points if you get killed after your victorys.
If you bail near the frontline, it's possible that you manage to escape into friendly territory; but I'm not shure if that impacts the point system.

In short-> Kill and return to base will get you the full score.

Kill and do not return will cut your score depending on the exact incident.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

credit points for the downed (or seriously damaged aircraft that RTBs) depends on how many engines it has
1 engine = 100 pts
2 engines = 200 pts
3 engines = 300 pts
4 engines = 400 pts

ground obects are always less than 100, toughest AAA guns 60, armored tanks 40, soft trucks 20 (but with a single bomb blast, you may take out many at once)

the portion of your credit is given to you permanently according to the below conditions:
100% - if you land normally, or with minimal damage on an airbase or very close to it
70% - if you land outside the base radius, e.g., on a road, at friendly territory
50% - if you bail over friendly territory
10% - if you die or get captured (due to landing or bailing at enemy side)

But why do you care anyway? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

No doubt this is from a long time ago....but I don't think scoring has changed much over time...you will get the general idea from this link

There are a selection of Aces at the bottome of the QMB plane selection list, ie. Kovacs Bf-109. Shoot them down and you get 150 points.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
