View Full Version : Why is the SEARCH of the forum so difficult?

12-18-2004, 07:15 PM
Maybe I'm doin' something wrong, but now I can't find my own topics and threads that I have posted some time ago.

I must manually search for them which can be really fishy job (considering my senility).

For instance, I click on the "Find" button within main forum page, and in the box "Author name" I type Atomic_Marten.

And also in the "Search by date" I choose for instance last 30 days. Nothing is shown.(even if I do not use this "search by time" feature).

So, what I really need to know is anyone else having problems with forum search or am I the only one 'scientist' with this problem..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The search function has not worked properly for a while now.

I just wonder would that be fixed in the future. I have noticed that for quite a time now, also, but now it starts to bug me..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yes, I have always found the ubi forum search engine to be surprisingly useless. All this knowledge that the community is contributing to these forums is effectively lost unless stickied.

For the Search to work at all... you have to use the Advanced Search.
Plus you have to click on the IL-2 colume to General Discussion, Pacific Fighters, or etc... and sometime it will work then. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
