Great news! But does this apply to the whole of Europe? I live in The Netherlands and I would like to pre-order it too. Do they ship to the European mainland?

I'm absolutely shocked by this statement, it's got a bloody Spitfire!!! What more could you want? Anything else is just a bonus.
Hang your head in shame Zulu and BTW just to add to your embarrassment, I'm adding this to our forum. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Not sure what you mean about Ubi revamp. I'm in the U.S., west coast, and pre-ordered directly from Ubi several weeks ago. Is there a problem? Is that coming through Amazon as well?

The US UbiShop is still open for business and will process North-American orders with due diligence. Only the UK store is concerned by the revamp, so you don't need to worry http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There should be no difference in terms of content between the UK and US versions, so either is good.

It does seem to me it would be terribly expensive and slow to have a copy shipped to Australia/NZ, especially considering the fact that the game should be released there at the same time. A quick search shows that Dstore (http://dstore.com.au/?action=view&id=657163) is taking pre-orders, and I'm sure there are many other local online stores that will carry it.

Just Pre Ordered from Amazon. The E-Mail Confirmation states that the product will be released on the 12th, will enter dispatch on the 13th with a projected delivery date of the 15th or 16th.

Thats with their 1st class one business day delivery service.

Might just be a better idea to pre order from Game or something.

Does anyone know if a final list of flyables has been released for the add on??? Or when one will be released??? With the US release in about 10 days time, and the UK release 10 days afterward, surely releasing a full list of what is in the product would be prudent??

Do you already have to have 'Il-2:Forgotten Battles' to be able to use the expansion pack or is that part of it? The reason I ask is because its says 'Ace Expansion and Gold Pack' which usually means the game and the add-ons.

I preordered Lock-On from UBI, and got it 1 1/2 weeks after the stores got it. I won't be doing anymore ordering from UBI.

Yes, I heard stories like that about FB. That's why I preordered Lock-ON. It was the first time I ordered anything from UBI, and it will be the last. I even paid for overnight shipping, and didn't get that either. If you would have been on the Lock-On forum when the game was released, you would have seen me screaming for a week and a half. I'll just buy from a store from now on like I always do. I'm not bitter about it, but simple sharing my experience.

Although at MX2.co.uk where I have it on order, theyt still say March 12th http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif . Now I'm confused....... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif What's happening?

WWMaxGunz

Yes, there's 4 Spit Vb's.

Regular Vb (Merlin 45 or 46) and clipped wing version.

LF Vb (Merlin 50a -- low alt high performance) and clipped wing version of same.

All are very sweet to fly. The turns... they make the Hurris look like poor cousins, as I guess they should but then Spit Vb's compared to Hurri II's or the I should at any rate. I will feel your happiness somewhat, I'm sure because I can already think of how you will feel when you get this and I like it. But then, where does my family come from? ;^)

All have the same guns, weak 303's (okay, weak by comparison standards but get close or a good angle and they can tear holes just fine as you see with the Hurri I's now) and those 20mm Hispano's.

Even without the added planes, it is worth the money for the updated parts. This is FB 2.0 for good reason, very good reason. After seeing it, I think this is not an option any more than FB was from IL2. Not as big a step, but a step nonetheless. A very good step.

There is also an upcoming patch with more planes and I hear the Spit IX's.

Only difference between Aces and Gold is that Aces is the addon if you already have FB - Gold is basically the FB game and the Aces Addon in the same box, and is more expensive as a result. Not worth getting Gold if you already have FB (unless you are a collector) IMHO.

hope this helps

cheers

hum not too sure about pre-ordering games in the uk, but in the usa, everytime a new game comes out and my buddies pre-order it. I get it the same day it is released by just walking into the store and buying it, while they have to wait a week or two until it arrives. rather strange when they ordered it a month ahead of time.

I had a copy of aep in my hand at 10 am eastern standard time the day it came out (last wednesday I believe). 3 days later my squad buddies canceled their pre-orders and went to the store and bought it. their pre-order still had not shipped.

Thank GOD! my preorder was cancelled due to a lsot credit card.

I went to EB the day it was released and got my copy. THose that pre-ordered and even paid the RUSH fee still had to wait almost 5 days after release to get their hands on the AEP.
