Wow, long time Cy. How have you been? If I recall, you could really make the 4.0 F4U really hum. I'm not quite set up for 1946 yet, but hope to see you at altitude sometime again.

This video has been posted a few times. Zeno also offers it for sale IIRC.

Downloading videos from google/youtube/etc is a snap really. Look for an app called heimdal to download the video. (Or you can do it through firefox using an extension/add on called video downloader).

Here is heimdal

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Browsers/Heimdal.shtml

Then go get super c to convert it from *.flv to *.wmv (or whatever).

Thanks for your interest in Google Video.

Currently, the playback feature of Google Video isn't available in your country.

We hope to make this feature available more widely in the future, and we really appreciate your patience

That's life in the glorious People's Republic of China. Of course an F4U training film can create social upheaval and send a nation into a bloody rebellion. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Nah, dont misunderstand that. We had this here in Germany too, when Google Video was fairly new. It was really frustrating to see some good sounding videos being posted here and not be able to watch them.
But then, maybe Google Video isnt available in China because the total bandwidth consumtion for the entire country would be too high and so you will never get it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

Actually Yahoo bent over for China but Google refuses to give in to China's control demands. Every once and a while China blocks Google completely.

YouTube is not a problem here yet.

Heimdal instructions are kind of in Engrish, but I am sure you can handle it if I could figure it out.

Let me know if you need more help and I shall type up something.

Here are more explicit details.

Heimdal is a breeze to use.

Here is a better link to download Heimdal.exe

http://www3.telus.net/public/a5a03316/heimdal/Heimdal.exe

Open up Heimdal
Paste in the video link in the upper window.

http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1056703518162002454&q=f4u+training

Like this.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/WaldoPepper/heimdal/heimdalone.jpg

Click on the green check button to get this

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v516/WaldoPepper/heimdal/heimdaltwo.jpg

Next down in the bottom window, right click on the file info on the left and choose execute.

this should start the download and in this case it is an avi file already.

Ta Da! That's it.

If ever the file is a flash file (extension of flv) then use Super C to convert it. I choose avi/xvid/mp3 to convert to.
