My goodness Lipp,I thought we couldnt get playable fps at 1600/1200 with todays video cards. All the sites I see that use IL2 as a test show like 22fps with top end cards and this is just a 6800GT.Well now I know and I can save some money.

How is it online with those settings.Do you still get 50 average. Also, have you tried water=3.

Congrats on the new card, I got a 6800GT a while back and they are nice.... If you are reasonably computer savvy (and it sounds like you are) go over to guru3d and get one of the utilities that unlocks the overclocking options in your Nvidia control panel) proceed with caution and (depending on system) you should be able to get almost 6800 Ultra numbers out of it, with minor tweaking these cards can easily avg. 60-70 fps solid with some drops to the 30's at higher resolutions, If I crank down the water in the config file a notch and play a "mere mortal" 1024x768..lol I see FPS in the 80s-90s to low 100's,
but ,since with the advent of the new dots, you no longer play at a disadvantage at the higher resolutions , if your rig can handle it,-crank it up -you got plenty of gun..lol!
