View Full Version : Are the nose machine guns offset in the K-100?

Just noticed that the 2 nose mounted guns look offset in cockpit view, with the left one being farther foward, but muzzles are even in outside cowling views. If i change views in the cockpit it looks even as well. If the guns had alternate feed chutes wouldnt they still be even? Just curious?.

Right you are. The twin 20mm in the Ki-100 cockpit and the guns in the Ki-61 cockpit were staggered. Billfish, doubtlessly, will know the physics behind this. The muzzles should actually be staggered as the Bf 109's were.

Isn't this due to ammoboxes being one after another? Same reason P47 guns are staggered.
