View Full Version : question about playing this game in Lan ^^

Hmm... recently i got Pacific fighters and playing it with this my friend in a small Lan network ,both using joystick which we just got for $25 each!!!! ^^ So happy.... Anyway, ehem, back to business, We usually play in dogfight mode because the cooperative and campaign don't let the persons respawn after they die. However, we got bored of it and really wanna try to play with computers in dogfight mode (where you CAN respawn). Is there anyway to do it? Like.. Counter Strike provide... Podbot or something similar...
Also, IS there any place where i could download new maps for this game??
Would be great if someone could answer these questions ^^
And by the way, my internet connection sucks, is it ok to play online with... say, 40kb/s? (it suppose to be 56 >.< but since i moved to this area, the internet just **** up itself )
thx a lot guys...

and No, probably not.

do yourself a favour and buy forgotten battles+aces exspantion pack

then youl get a ton of new maps and airplanes.

remember to merge them on install.

welcome to olegs world, have fun.

? Is it not possible for the host to create a dogfight server over a LAN ? I didn't know that.

You definitely need the FB Gold pack though.....FB+AEP+PF merged and patched up-to-date is a delight to play, with hundreds of aircraft, maps & missions available.

Quite a few people fly online successfully with dial-up modems. You may get kicked from some of the arenas with tight settings, but you should be able to fly somewhere in HyperLobby without too much fuss.

These days I mainly play with my rookie mate over a direct ip connect...

unfortunately as u have noticed there is no real way to have a two player fight against AI, where u can respawn when dead.

i knock up quick FMB missions as COOPs that we play online- great craic, but unfortunately when one player dies he is dead for duration of mission...

adds a bit of a 'doh' factor though, and they can always watch u carry on to certain death..

current fav mission is 'Get Hitler!' , where the Furher is travelling in a FW200 escorted by some FWs and we must intercept and down him...

easy to do and good fun- but perhaps not so historically stringent. most sites offer basic intros to knocking up simple missions.

:'( ****.. thanks for trying guys... indeed, i hope Ubi could release some patch that cover this... or there might be some hero out there who might find out a way to add AI in dogfight.. ^^ mhm.. I even tried to use notepad and open the map in pf folder: /pf/mission/net/dogfight/pf/1.mis ^^ lol... it has potential though because you can actually see the configuration of the map... I planned to add some configuration of the coop map into it but it seems impossible.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
ALright.. THanks to yo all and i shall continue my journey.

*fly off*
*got shot down by ship*

Anyway,I would definetly check this forum often to see if anyone could come up with a brilliant idea, savvy? ^^So happy that there are already 4 ppls who reply this post ^^
