I just scrolled through Airliners.net and found this pic:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0903699/L/

Now look at the rightern side of the pic. You'll see an A-1 Skyraider. Look at the next plane to the left and slightly below (above a Spitfire that flies above the Wildcat/ Martlet).
The plane in question flies behind a P-51 appearently.

Is this a Fw 190A-8/N ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Nope, i was there last year and there definately WAS NOT a FW190, if there was they'd have a tough time gettin me out of there while the 190 was still around!!

Oh i heard rumours that there will be one there this year though, a 109 too, im not sure how true they are but ill be going either way!

No, a Sea Fury looks different from behind. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Look at the Sea Fury's oil-cooler in the wing and the tail-hook housing:

According to rumors the new 190 hasn't even finished flight-testing. If we're lucky she'll be present at the ILA 2006 in Berlin in May, so I doubt she was at Duxford.

I think that was the Yak/La thingy they had there, La9 or Yak13, some **** like that. See it has that square edged belly like the Focke. I took a pic on the flightline:

Well if you wasnt there you probably wouldnt know the damned thing was at FL, i was there and there was hardly any attention to it, which pissed me off. There was also an I16 and i think most people were like WTF is this little piece of **** http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I was fascinated though! Between the Hawk75 and the P61 i had hardly any time for the Spitfires http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Yeah right!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

You can always change your sig piture to an LA7 and they might forget all about this due to a severe state of shock. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thats a real shame.Did they not have any long term plans for the company? Ray was well over 70 after all.

K from what I have heard is that the Engineering is being wound down as we speak, the tooling is being sold off and the fleet is up for sale, I believe Mr Hanna had intended to semi retire to his Native New Zealand and hence why a lot of the fleet is now there, but alas with his loss the family are winding down the company................ But hey, do not look on this as a sad thing but look on it as a good thing, If it was not for the money, foresight of the Hanna family the world would have :-

one............. not had the pleasure of seeing these famous and vintage planes in the UK air

two............. a lot of these planes would have gone to the big aircraft maker in the sky...

so don't be sad be joyous, they will find homes and continue on, but without thier dedication, money and driving force the world would have lost these assets a long time a go when such things were looked upon as worthless scrap.

No finer tribute can the Hanna family have that to know that they have in their own not so little part saved some of the Countries heritage, if not the worlds............... to that we all owe them a lot.

Salute Ray and Mark Hanna............. you have left the world a better place than had you not existed and for that I and a lot of aviation enthusiasts Salute you.............. RIP
