You needaForce Feedback stick. Right now the only ones making them are Saitek and Logitech.. I dont know which is best because I always coinsidered the MSFFB2 best of all (thats what I use..)but MS is out of the stick business. Basically FFB acts like a connection to the plane..the stick will shake if you start to stall....if you take a hit on the wing you will feel the sluggishness in turns..if you have the gun FFB enabled when you pull the trigger the stick wills shake. All in all I like it..very immersive. I dont use the gun forces though..too much noise, too much vibration on my stick.

Force feedback is a function that is built into certain joysticks. Basically the stick has servos and vibration motors that simulate stick pressure, vibrations you would feel in the stick when your guns fire, or your landing gear seats in the wheel wells, or the plane begins to buffet from a stall or turbulence. Some like it, some don't. I personally think it adds a great deal to the game.

If you have a force feedback stick you must enable it in the game set-up in order for it to function properly.

All the best, Don

it is a feature that allows you to feel the forces acting on your aircraft most importantly it allows you to feel the aerodynamic forces acting on your flight controls and is VERY usful when flying at the limits of your aircraft especaly near stall...for the 1st jear pluse i did not have a stick that supported it ..i then got my msffb 2 and now im in heaven i rely dont know how i flew without it before..unfortuntly that stick has recently gone out of production..if you can get one .GO GET IT ..not all sims have the feature and the msffb series and logitech also has one but i have no expierience with it....and yes fb of course has it but you must enable it

I'm in need of a new joystick and since I'm a lefty I have to go with Saitek. Their Evo has 2 models and one is FFB. Its almost double the price but now I'm convinced to give it a try http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sometimes the "oldies" are best...have a look at the Guillemot FFB Stick. BIG footprint but it doesn't move all over your desktop!!

MS FFB2, now 4 years old, wouldn't fly without it. Absolutely great.

As part of my endeavour to get my PC to accept TrackIR I re-installed XP on a clean hardrive and actually forgot to install the Drivers for my stick - it worked OK but without Force Feedback.
The first time I flew without Forcefeedback enabled it felt really wierd! It's another big immersion enhancer for me.

Needless to say, I promptly installed the right drivers and I feel fine now! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

How do you disable the recoil for the Force Feedback?
Or tone them down?
