I am a WWII flight sim fan from a while back, and have been seriously contemplating a return to the genre with the il2 series.

I guess I was curious how many in this community were members of or remember Air Warrior III from Kesmai studios?

That was my first Online flight sim.

Anyway. Just wanted to say hi and hope to see some of you online as soon as I get my wings underneath me again.

Oh, most certainly. Back in the day Air Warrior III was my second most-played flight sim as far as online goes (right behind Red Baron II/3D). Some of my favorite "Well-there-I-was-in-a-game" stories come from AW3 sessions. Like the first time I was a gunner in a B-17 and we got bounced by a flight of Doras. Or the time I was alone in a Bf-109 and had to defend my airfield from Allied bombers until help arrived. Or the time...

Well, you get the point. Just consider this: AW3 remained on my hard drive up until the day I got the Forgotten Battles gold pack. After playing FB I uninstalled Air Warrior and haven't looked back. It's currently sharing shelf space with my copy of the original Rainbow Six (which, I'll admit, I still do play from time to time).

Do yourself a favor and pounce on this game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My first online sim too!

Ah, yes... AW4W (AirWarrior for Windows), AirWarrior II, AirWarrior 3D. Played 'em all. I remember the old Big Pacific map on the FR server. Built-in comms that worked, even on 28.8 dialup. Hundreds of people on a server.

Good times.

I had the box version for a couple years before I went on line-a whole new world. Flying gunner in a formation of B-17s. Trying to shoot from an A-26 flown by someone who could really fly. Time flew faster than the Doras.

It is really good to see all the people who remember that game. I mention it to my other gaming friends and they give me the "deer in the headlights" look.

I am going to get the FB Gold pack then PF a bit later.

Any good jug squadrons around?
