Is there a way in the missions or campaigns to jump to the action?

You can put it on autopilot and then use the time-acceleration features to essentially fast-forward to the action.

Look in your controls menu for these functions.

There is a time skip feature (map a control to it) that will skip ahead until enemies or ground targets are within a certain range, but it's imperfect, I've pressed that button a few times only to have the game come back with me and my flight crashed into the side of a mountain, lol.

This is the reason that I made the "Two minutes to action" series. Click on my signature and forget the "fast forwarding".

Hi there, welcome to the forums.

there is a line in the config file which can be changed to whatever you like and determines how far the action is on average. But I forget which one it is now.

Something like missiondistance= x

Can anyone remember the exact location of the file/ line please?

its under dgen settings, in the conf.ini and is,

MissionDistance=50

with 50 being the number of km you will have to fly on average.

Obviously, only works for dgen caampaigns.
