I've owned many weapons, both shoulder and handheld. One that really got the range's attention when I fired it was my modified Ruger Super Blackhawk in .454 Cassul. That dude either has the wrist strength of a 2 year old or that thing kicks much harder than anything I've ever shot (which is certainly possible).

Either way, that some funny sh*t.

Believe it or not, but there really are crazy mofos that use pistols like that for hunting big game. Bears, and such.

To be honest, though, I'd NEVER seen a pistol loaded with .600 Nitro Express. That's a cordite-propelled elephant cartridge, developed specifically to stop a charging elephant. It was made for those big double-barrelled rifles; putting it in a pistol is just ****ing crazy.

Its beyond me. Personally, I have no interest in that type of handgun. I carry a S&W .45 Colt Mounatin Gun when I'm in the woods. Thats plenty of gun to deal with the biggest of creatures in my neck of the woods. When it comes to hunting I have various rifles or shotguns to fit the job. I don't understand the lure of hunting with a contraption like that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Why?....Well quickly bow hunting which I do quite a bit of became rediculously easy...Now I'm not talking just my aim smack on at 70yards....As I'd never shoot over 30. What became easy was sitting myself in places thinking I'd be at 20 yards, and quickly found deer actually stepping on me never knowing I was there. (Naturally scent and such I'm always careful of....Wind and what terrain does with it everything).

So as a test, I parked my butt beside a tree, and ended up making it a tradition to smack a live deer on the butt with my hand each year as one passed.......That was so easy I wondered about using a lance instead of a bow like a couple of the special forces friends we have do for bear.....Gave it a shot and Viola....Usually get 1 a year that way and one with a bow (like hunting with a lance in...ahem, minimal fashion) so early season.

That moved on to other and more dangerous game as a thrill......Anyone can use a gun, I actually quite well. A bow with some practice you'll be splitting shafts at 30 yards.......

Now imagine how you feel just before the shot....Now imagine it at 5-6' http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm a Barbarian I tell ya http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif LEBillfish you are one heck of a lady.

Please be careful when engaging in those 'spear and bear' games. The boards would lack terribly whithout a LEbillfish I belive.
I very much appreciate your Ideology to give your opponent some chanses to combat aswell though.

Aside from the fact that I think implants are a sign of extremely weak self-esteem and oversized ones are ridiculous to look at and feel, as everyone knows they are blatantly fake, my point went so far over your heads, it was like an F-15 flyby at an airshow. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Anyone who requires that much attention, has many other issues to work out. I'm hoping professional help is sought soon or she is doomed to a life of failed marriages, overwhelming and constant need of validation from men (or in the case of this forum, boys) and a life of constantly overstating issues to be noticed.

The thankful part in my eyes at this time, is that she is not raising a daughter. Hopefully, the cycle will be broken. Sometimes things just have to be said to plant the seed. I'm not trying to be mean, just honest.

Oh c'mon. Billfish has got her silicone, you got your big truck with duallies.

If they made d*ck implants, you'd be the first one under the knife.

First, you are confusing me with a redneck. I drive a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe.

Second, if it got any bigger, I'd have trouble finding partners who wouldn't run away scared from it. As it is now, and even after three kids, the blue vein throbber days scare the bejeesus out of my wife. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

I like fishing... and I like putting them back alive.

Never understood hunting to kill nowedays to be honest, well unless you live somewhere where there is not a lot of food!

I agree, Lucius. I do know they have brought back black bear hunting in NJ to help with the overpopulation problem and infestation of civilization by them.

Also, deer hunting is done for the same reason, as there is a severe lack of natural predators left on the east coast to help control their populations.

I'd much rather go to a skeet range or target range to show off my shooting prowess. I don't condemn hunters, it just isn't a sport for me.

Big bore handguns are one of many trends popular in the shooting world today. I remember when this started in the 1980s. The .455 Casull was introduced and the gun magazine writers hyped it like it was the 2nd coming of Christ.

I suppose if one wants to be a stickler, one could trace this trend back t Elmer Keith's invention of the .44 magnum cartridge in the 1950s. But the .44 magnum is reasonably comfortable to shoot- something the inventors of these handheld artillery pieces can't boast.

Though it should be "1 shot, 1 kill", even if a bullseye......The true test, and mark of development of all firearms has always been....."The follow up shot".....and often the concern alone by the one firing such a weapon as shown makes their odds of hitting their target dramatically less.........

Seriously......It's like buying a Ferrari to commute to work in a crowded city.....

And in certain cases, I'm betting a judge would call it self-defense. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Speaking of flame-throwers, LStarosta, hair spray makes one of the cheapest and most wicked flame throwers. I suggest a BIC lighter though, not a Zippo. Mom used to use a ton of hair spray back in the 60's, early 70's and I recommend Aqua-Net, if it is still available.

Actually, come to think of it I forgot that aerosol hair spray is almost completely replaced due to that whole "Ozone layer" deal.
