Hi all,
I have been wondering about the 4.09b update, I know it is beta, so was wondering, what all encompases the MTO (Medeiterranean Theater?) and is it worth going ahead and downloading or to just wait until the patch becomes official. I am patched up to 4.08m at the moment (1946 of course). Thanks for all your opinions. Also, what are the best maps available at the moment that will get me flying on/around the English Channel (Normandy ones, but any others)? Thanks all! Man I love this sim. I am trying to get others at work hooked on it as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

All the maps in 4.09b are outstanding... There are also some relly nice unofficial maps.. you can see them in this thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/3471084176/p/1). Before you do however make sure you read this post (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/7441010176).

Welcome mkgeorgetown, I don't know if is such a good idea to do that. This game is like a stepping stone: you start playing it once in a while, get absorbed by it and before you know it you fly around several hours a day. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I patched it up to V4.09b1m after I've seen some nice screenshots and these vids:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=il2+slovaki...0&oq=%22il2%22+slova (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=il2+slovakia&search_type=&aq=0&oq=%22il2%22+slova)

But if you want to play online I would advise nt to patch up to the bta version, because 95% is V4.08 at Hyperlobby. Or do a second install: nr. 1 V4.08 for playing online and backup and nr.2 V4.09b1m for offline flying.
Another possibility is by installing a socalled switcher between the several versions.

V4.09b1m has one extra MTO map and the outstanding Slovakia map.

There are some more MTO maps and some maps of the English Channel to find but they are unofficial and it's quite a hot issue here when it comes to mods. Those mods are to find on another site but we are not allowed to link to it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Two screenshots of V4.09b1m

Thanks all!! I would take it that the two pics of the maps shown are the Slovakia map? It looks awesome. I think I must download it. Appreciate all your alls advice.

Yep, that's the Slovakia map. And V4.09b1m has an increased visibility distance which works for all maps by the way.

That comes at a price, though, as you now clearly see all 4 borders in some of the maps ; )
