Guys,

I know this thing is taking forever, but these skins are just about done. Remember the markings are temporary and the skins will not be sent to Oleg with markings. Default skins are blank. The Beaufighter had many many different combinations of physical features (i.e. air filters, tails, antennas, exhausts and noses), markings and paintjobs. We think the Beau had the most mixed and matched parts of any plane in WWII. Halfwit and I have tried to give you the most likely versions you would encounter on the battlefield, but also give you features that distinguish them from each other. It wasn't easy. I'm sure Halfwit wanted to kill me at times. We still have work to do, but IMHO they are really looking good now. It will be AI until further notice. Enjoy.

Will this be eventually included in FB, or wait for BoB?

It's intended for FB not BOB. BOB models are far more complex with many many more polygons.

Is there any plans for a cockpit? I'd love to fly this plane probably as much as the Tempest or Spit IX.

This definatly comes under forgotten a/c but was so versitile it was used as in virtually every role imaginable, such a great plane. Certainly is one of my favorite planes but sadly overshadowed by planes like the Mossy.

A Beau-tiful bird, that's for certain. Great work! With this and the Mosquito I think I'd be in twin heaven.

Thanks guys,

Halfwit wants to do a cockpit, but it's no easy task. It will be AI for the foreseeable future unfortunately.

Here is the current state of the Mk. X. We are reworking parts of the model and parts of the skin to fix some problem areas. This was IMHO the ultimate anti-shipping bird.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes!! I might even forgo the Il 10 for this.

Forget I said that I want both.

What a strangely beautiful aircraft, I have always loved the Mosquito and it's a gem but this one does have something. Maybe it's because it is one of the first aircraft I modelled as a child.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

It was massively heavily armed too. 4 20mm Hispano cannon and six machine guns was one loadout I remember

Yes, Adlabs is doing the damage model. I hope to have new pics of the damage shortly. I always forget to include him cause I don't speak to him much. But when we do speak we see eye to eye. Adlabs is a great guy. He too should get thecredit as well. My bad. Sorry Adlabs.

Hey, no problem Burnin. I kind of enjoy my relative annonymity sometimes.http://www.geocities.com/adlabs6/B/bin/1/wink.gif Hopefully you'll be getting my latest damage art very soon, as I've just finalized most of it and passed it along for submission with the model. Hopefully we'll have some pics to show off the damage in the coming weeks.

This is a really impressive effort and kudos to all involved. I certainly look forward to it down the road. Hmmm...now all we need is someone to do the Stringbag, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and we've got the makings for an awesome Channel Dash mini-campaign!
