Just got it today. Great new planes...love the p38 and Bf110g2. Don't mind paying 29.95 for something I can tinker and play with for awhile but what does everyone else think? Too much to spend just for planes, and a few new campaigns?

I am very happy with Aces with the exception of the online "timeout" issue. Once that is fixed, I'll be a very satisfied 1C customer, again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I am madly in love with this expansion, and haven't even flown all the planes yet. I am still trying to learn the P-38 for all I am worth. I really want to be good at this plane.

I agree with the majority here. This is a great expansion. I dont mind the price tag...considering all the free stuff we have been handed in the past. I guess the team deserves it.

Its a whole new world. I never bothered with any other prop sim until the FB. Now for the first time I am getting to sim all these new Wester Theatre "Microsoft" planes without having to waste money and trash can space on Microsoft or others' games...

I~16 type 18 is still my favorite though, nothing new under the FB sun there. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

Yep! It's called "Can't Talk-Gotta Shoot!" Named after the words spoken by Bud Anderson as he shot down his first (I believe) 109. I wish FB/AEP had clouds like that though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

With apologies to our friends in Europe who are still waiting...this add-on has clearly raised the bar for sims. IMO, it's worth the wait! Improved graphics, better sound, a handful of useful planes (and couple of flying oddities).

I read that Battle Over Europe makes good use of the maps and will be patched to take advantage of the new AEP features soon.

Finally, 1C has said a quick patch (new flyable a/c) will follow as soon as AEP is released in Europe.

All in all, a pretty interesting time for FB simmers, I think.

I love this expansion!!! The P-38 is an absolute dream to fly. My only question is where can I find info on the new planes? I'd like to know the loadouts for the ho-229 and He-162, especially

03-06-2004, 11:30 PM
Well it isnt exactly free If You Pay for the game it comes in http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif . AEP has a nice addition of planes that add a new exotic flavor to this game. As for $$$ I cant help it if i dont like spending it on something thats worth what it sells for or not. (I always say prices could and should be lower for the poor man http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

The plane count and quality is very high indeed. If UBI wanted to really make sacks of cash they would market this series better. The name (sorry Oleg) is so obscure compared to what you actually get and the AEP set a new low for documentation - there is only a readme that tells you part of the story. Of course I rather have the money put into the final product than the instructions, but all this hurts it's marketability outside of the diehard sim freaks in the US anyway.

March 19 release date from GPStore.co.nz
They will ship it same day, and exchange rate is good. Usually seem to have things in stock before EB or anyone else here do.
Just waiting for the mailman now!

I am truly sorry our Euro and Aussie friends dont have AEP yet, but there is great news for you. Once the game is released in your neck of the woods, there will also be a bug fixing patch and 10+ new planes to quote Oleg.

While you wait, be sure that we are combing through the expansion to make it as bug free for you as possible!

Have you guys flown the new Bi-planes? OMG they are fun!

You're right about the marketing thing. This product could be marketed better. Capitalism is all about marketing and advertising. Perhaps our friends across the water need to learn more about this issue. A littlemarketing can go a long way and make you lots of cash http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif

I give it a thumbs up. Like I said before I'm disappointed by the lack of offline stuff, but the good outweighs the bad. Me-163, Bi-planes (you gotta love them) and a bunch of other planes I've yet to fly.

AEP? It's friggin fantastic....tho I too am somewhat dissappointed w/a lack of offline goodies. But I guess that is what UQMG is for.

More people should learn to love the FMB. It's really not that hard to use. Sometimes you need to create a new folder for them, though
