I am going to E3 on Thursday and I have a meeting set up with Luthier and Oleg to sit around and chat a bit. I will try to get some jucy info and stuff to post here! Any good questions you want me to grill them on?

My post's are my asumptions only, and in no way linked to fact. I am not an official 1C, Ubi, or Russian Red Rocket spokesman.

i would like to know when the first patch for BoB will be out...

no, seriously...maybe some info on the balance of fighters/bombers in BoB compared to IL2, or some info on this patch that has barely been mentioned? ;p

Yes Gibb, a fairly moderate Question I hope...

If it can be done, can AI planes that vanish be restricted to the very large planes only?

If I recall, most of the problems involving AI planes colliding with parked AI planes involved large aircraft like Me~323, TB~3, etc... colliding with other large aircraft. Just let the large aircraft vanish. Anyway, one rarely finds such large aircraft at frontline battlefield airfields.

If we can get back small planes that park and stay parked--twin engine planes and smaller--then we could make more interesting *surprise* airfield attack situations after Player flight returns to airfield, and eventlog file can then record destroyed parked planes for a dynamic campaign (I am slowly working on one).

-- no rush on this, it can be done anytime between now and when Oleg stops making Patches over the FB. We can wait.

Thanks.

There is only one important question right now. Will the P-51D get HVAR's in the patch? To me the Pony would be perfect if it just had rockets for a loadout.

As I feel questions about planes is out of the question http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, here are my (tech) questions:

1.Are there going to be any changes to the online gamemodes for next upcoming sim? = BoB, or are they goin to remain identical like they are now, Dogfight mode (No flying AI) Coop Mode, Campaign mode.????

2.Will there be Dedicated Server support for BoB?

3.Could you consider changing the chatsystem in next simulator?? that chat is terrible...Keep it simple!

4.Could it be possible to add more realism options to the sim in general, like an option to remove possibility to send smoke (T)?

5.How much do you use IL2FB code in BoB?, will BoB be a refined FB?, like FB was for original IL2, or is it completely new, with new code? Please explain briefly.

6. Are you planning/ would you consider, to move in to the civilian simulator scene?? (and finally kick Microsoft off the throne.)

7. Tell us about the future, and what you think flightsims will be like in 10 years from now?

Thank you.

Could you ask Oleg if he envisions/plans to combine two games in one, for example FB and Wartime Commanders?

It just seems from the latest PF's and BOB's pics that he is introducing more and more detail ground objects (e.g. trucks with open doors, soldires next to mortars--find here:
http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=98;t=009695;p=).

Also, Wartime Commanders is built on modified Il2 engine.

Thanks in advance, Gib.

Gibb, scratch that AI taxi Question unless you are also interested...

Much simpler here...

Can they lower the contrail level from 7km down to 6km altitude? I am having difficulty keeping heavy loaded AI bombers above contrail level. Also the 1300 meter thick "mist" or "fog" that flies past your cockpit beginning at ~6.5km is waay to thick to represent those thin flat 200m thick high altitude clouds. Ask if they can reduce the thickness of the mist cos its very irritating (mist should not be thicker than those thin flat clouds). Or just totally eliminate the high altitude mist between 6.5km and 8km.

Thanks.

Just two,

1 : Were are the flyable bombers , recon , groundatack and transport`s?

I mean in the past years we have get so many nice fighter plane`s buht not many ahter type of plane`s.
This game is for fighter lovers and not so for general flichtsim lovers.

CFS3 is not good buht it have bombers and transports etc etc to fly wiht (bad exemple lol).
We just like to see more div type off plane`s in this game to fly wiht starting wiht the A.I. type`s like the Hs126 , Pe2/3 serie or C-47.
Well i hope u understaind waht i mean :-)).
I know its hard to bild a good flyable bomber buht we are asking it for more than 2 years now and we all are not great max 3d users or bilders like u Gib.
So we are asking , begging to 3th party bilders and to Oleg and his team.
Please make A.I. bombers , recon , transport , Groundatack etc etc flyable.
Please!!!!!!

2 : is there a bilding coming wiht points for high alt level bombing ( above 6.000 alt)
And is it possible to make ships visable from a longer distance wehn flying in He111 on 5.000 alt and above?
I mean if we fly a high level bombing mis/coop than for minor vidio card users its not possible to see targets on time tro the bombside or in outside vieuw.

Personel i see ships wehn flying on 5000 alt only wehn i`m exetly above it and thats to late to drop bombs.

Thnx for ure time.

Thnx I/KG26_Oranje

Trying to keep it general, I'd ask him the classic question of NPR reporters:

"How is ______ (in this case being the lead on a combat flight sim) different than you thought it was gonna be? Were you surprised?"

People are ALWAYS surprised and the stories they tell are far more interesting that just ticking off a list of trivia/detail oriented questions.

And if that doesn't work ask him "If you were a tree (or plane) what would you be?"

Gib, if you can, can you please ask him about helping Naryv (a maddox Games employee) with the Po-2/U-2VS cockpit? It is a very vital and important project to this sim, as this plane participated on just about every front the Russians existed in. It was a medevac plane, a Night bomber, a day bomber, a recon and scout plane, etc... Hopefully we can get a gunner's position modeled too?

Oh yeah, forgot about that =P

Fantastic!! I can't wait for this to come out. It's essentially like IL2 but with the new theater and new planes. I got to fly the corsair for a carrier landing, which I requested and what luthier was so kind let me try. The carriers are beautiful, I think he said there were about 9 classes so far. He mentioned so many planes and bombers. I got so excited I forgot to ask which are flyable http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/1072.gif

The approach to the carrier felt a lot more exciting than the CFS2, which can be expected I guess. My tail hook was too high during my attempted landings. Wait til you see the videos http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

Other playbacks I got to see were torpedo runs on carriers which looked impressive. AAgh! There was so much, I'm still so excited.

I know you guys asked a lot of questions but I so greedily watched it and was flying it. Sorry guys. Gibbs will probably answer your detailed questions, though.

I'll repost when the zip is up.
