You should get IL-2 1946. It is the latest in the series and contains content from Pacific Fighters as well as all the other expansions released since then, such as Pe-2 Peshka, Sturmoviks Over Manchuria.

I play 1946 on win7 64 bit, it runs just fine. If you're still playing the old PF version it could be an issue with old code, but that issue has definitely been resolved in later patches.

Other than that... try running it as administrator maybe?

I think there are some bugs in Windows 7 with various Il-2 versions but you should be able to get it to run with some fixes, if nobody here knows then ask on the Community Help forum, I see people ask about how to get Il-2 running in Windows 7 all the time. I recently installed Windows 7 and Il-2 1946 ran for me fine without any fixes though.

In any case you really should get Il-2 1946, it is the latest version, has tons of planes and new maps and better AI, and is $10 USD or less which is a steal for so much content.

Thanks for the help, I actually got pf to install and run but when I try to update from ubi it wont update, it will install but no update..I tried 3.01 to 3.03 and every different combo but no luck. I wish there was a all inclusive patch, not having to start from the bottom..Any help?

as the other guys had commented, i would have to agree. get 1946. about 10 dollars, and is everything at its latest, and least "headachey" installments for updates http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

iL2 1946 (http://www.amazon.com/IL-2-Sturmovik-1946-Pc/dp/B000N4JENW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1265431731&sr=8-1) is 5 games in one all on 2 DVDs. It has everything from at least Forgotten Battles on. Patching it up to 4.09 even adds more planes and maps.

Thanks, so I do or do not need to get the original IL2 DVD? Thanks again

You do not need the original (I think it was a CD-ROM?).

You only need "IL2 1946" which is a DVD and sells for about $10. It is a stand alone product.

Fly right.

I just got Win7 and installed PF and IL1946 but I put them in a file I called "GAMES" not in the default install file path. I had heard some were having problems and put mine here: Computer>OS(C)>Games. everything worked fine

I got IL2 1946 and it wont install on auto.exe or if I go into the files themselves..I'll keep trying but no luck..

Have you disabled the UAC yet? How about installing it into a different folder other than C:\Program Files or C:\(x86)Program Files?

It gets to the point where it asks me for the language then NOTHING....I cant even get to the file/folder selection option yet..I tried to copy the disc to the hard drive and install and no luck..I was able to install my Wings over vietnam and Pacific Fighters this way (all on another install disc) and it worked. No way with the DVD version of is2 1946..no luck..

Explore the DVD, find the install program called A or A.exe, run that and it will install, after that if you try to run the game and get a spinning disk icon and then nothing, the fix is here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/2861000908).

I just got il2 46 installed and it works fine..Is there a no cd crack for pf? My disc is beat!

pacific fighetrs is part of 1946, all the same game. pacific fighters was effectively a pay for uber-patch to il2 forgotten battles, as is 1946, although 1946 contains everything.
