True... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But, since it has been adequatly established that there is no news on RB6-5 and since any type of speculation is heavily frowned upon......

Well, we gotta talk about SOMETHING... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And, since the GRAW already has the definitive Political thread, I figured talking about the extravaganza this Friday would be a worthwhile topic. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Sniper thanks for the reminder!! I cannot wait. Make sure you're on R6 IRC on friday well... It will be Saturday for me as it will be showing at 3am lol, but you best. I will have lots of things to say about season 3 premiere. Oh by the way Sniper have you seen the adverts for SGA with Sheppard and Mckay?

If not go to http://www.scifi.com/atlantis/ click watch preview, once it loads there is 3 boxes 1 called promo, the other two Pool and Elevator, click them and watch, they're quite amusing... Well if you're an avid SGA fan like me, you'll understand the suttle joke. *teehee*

Season Premiers of Stargate SG-1 (TVs longest running SciFi series ever), Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica.

It should be good. Extravaganza means spectacular Entertainment which Stargate series is lol. Dunno if you've seen sniper but "Ice Planet" new Sci-fi series coming out soon with Michael Ironside, that show looks pretty kick ***.

BSG does not startup until October I believe it is. They say the reason for that is it will be non stop instead of a break mid season like last season.

But talking about BSG, I just cannot imagine them leaving things as they are.

My guess is there will be a Time Travel episode in the near future where they go back and prevent Baltar from being elected president.

Yea, that seems to be the case http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I thought it was going to return in July. Oh well. At least we will have the SGs to keep us happy..

I have a personal beef with Ron Moore, so I started watching BSG, intending NOT to like it. But I have to admit. He done good with BSG... It's a great show..

Yep I was kinda disapointed as well about BSG starting in Oct. But I have to say after thinking about it I like the idea of no break in the middle. So I guess I can live with the new schedule. Here is a snipit of it.

It's better not having a break. Lost is going to be doing the same, I think it should of been like that all the time, re-runs should be put on to fill the gap after the season is up to fill that long void.

I spent 4 weeks watching Babs 5 the way it was meant to be watched. One by one, Season 1 thru Season 5. It was a great story, but I kinda lost a little interest after Season 4 when they took Earth and kicked out Clark. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well Atlantis rocked last nite woohoo!!! Shame that it's a two parter as per usual. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif I think SG1 though is going down the pan. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif It really seems to be going nowhere in terms of story and plot, everything they're doing has been done before and the repition has just fatigued itself. It's quite sad really because I'm sure if they had some better writers on the crew they could of made something better out of this.

But considering that Ori have control over 6 galaxies, have no weaknesses, are invinsible the writers are going to have to make one of the greatest bs's in sci-fi history to get out of where they are now, and they are waist deep. All the other enemies have had weaknesses natural ones along with technological ones, which makes for great battle sequences and interesting story and dialogue. Season 9 went off topic ori then baa'l then ori then something else now season 10 feels like a whole new show. Carter Teal'c are mearly background characters now, I do hope they finish this show at season 10 they are beating a dead horse here.

As much of an SG1 fan as I am, I agree with Woosy. They need to do a big fliparound in order to save the series, otherwise its just going to fade away.

I haven't watched yet so I can't read the postings yet.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But I agree that SG-1 has not gone very well, since Col O'Neill (Two 'L's) left.

For me, that's been the biggest issue. I still watch the series faithfully, butI don't enjoy it as much.

I think that SG-1 is simply pushing this last season so that they can have the distinction of being the longest running Sci Fi series ever., (X-Files held that distinction with 9 Seasons)

Yer right though, it's a shame.. I think the loss of Col O'Neill did it.

That's the problem with coming up with the end-all get-all of storylines.

A-Eventually, you are going to have to resolve it and...

B-Where do you go from there?? How can you top the end-all get-all that you previously hit??

Ya gotta admit, they milked the Ghou'auld baddies for quite a long time..

I dunno.. I can't see SG-1 surviving this season.. Like you said, there is nothing new...

Woosy

Col O'Neill is coming back in season 10, but I don't think it will help that much, it all depends how the writers do their job. Right now they face an invincible enemy, they own 6 galaxies and each planet with humans on worshipping them making them really strong.

You know I wouldn't of minded but when they beamed across the nuke to their ship which can only be described as a toilet seat nothing happened. Alot of people see Vala's daughter stoppeing them from attacking, speaking of which I dunno about you but i don't think I would be so emotionaly sound after being raped by the ori and inplanted with a child for 8 months. There is no emotion and it's almost like it's acceptable, she shows no sign of stress wtf?!

I really hope this is the last season...

The writing isnt so bad, just some of the new actors/actresses are.

Not saying the writing is on par with what it used to be, it certainly has gone downhill...

I got the impression that Vala wasn't raped. She was simply impregnated. I seem to recall that she said she had no clue how she got preggers... That would be in keeping with the Ori's intent of making it a religious event. IE Emaculate conception, virgin birth, etc etc..

I have to admit, I haven't been paying too close attention. These days, I seem to watch SG-1 more out of force of habit/nothing better to do than actually watching it because I enjoy it.

I think that SG-1 is simply suffering from the "Where do you go from UP??" syndrome...

What's really great about Michael Ironside is he can play a good guy (V) or a bad guy (Total Recall) equally well.

That's because his GOOD guy characters and his BAD guy characters are nearly alike!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But he pulls it off...
