Assassins creed !! to end in cliffhanger
http://xbox.joystiq.com/

"I'm telling you. At the end of AC2 you'll say‚ 'Holy crap, I never saw it coming.'"

That's according to Assassin's Creed II creative director, Patrice Désilets. In addition to saying "Holy crap," you should also prepare yourself to exclaim, "But what happens next?!" Désilets noted that his first Ubisoft sequel will answer plenty of questions -- but not all of them.

"There will be a cliffhanger," he admitted. "It's cool to have a cliffhanger." The director feels that players need to experience just a little bit of frustration at the game's completion, though a new way to replay completed missions should counter at least some of that. Oh, and remember that glowing writing on the wall?

"It has nothing to do with Assassin's Creed II, what's written on the wall has to do with the Assassin's Creed universe, not the second one."

I love the game, but UBI is the worst with it's fan base and relaying information to it's bread and butter. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Just because you hang out in the official forums doesn't mean you're privy to information that needs to be kept under wraps. If you want to be part of the inside circle, join the AC III development team.

Not to sound cold or anything, but they can't give this forum special treatment and just expect everyone here to keep it quiet for a week until they plan on releasing it to the more general public.

See what happened to Halo: Reach? Yeah, that's what happens when special treatment turns into a spoiler alert fail for Joseph Staten. He announced it, but it was already old news.

I shouldn't have posted this information, or you already knew this, and were keeping under wraps? I don't get the animosity.

What I'm saying is that they planned to release this information at a very specific date. And if you had gotten this kind of information first, it would have leaked onto the Internet like the Niagara Falls, before they wanted it to.

I'm just saying, giving special treatment to the official Assassin's Creed community would interfere with their plans.

Now, after the game releases and everyone knows everything about AC II, you might get special treatment in the form of community contests and prizes. But before, we're all in the dark.

Whatever the cliffhanger is at the end, it certainly won't be worse than playing through the first one and then ending up stuck in the lab at the end.

I like cliffhangers - they postpone the inevitable 'Happy ending' we Americans seem to unreasonably crave.....

Why should we get it first? We get it the same time as everyone else.
