View Full Version : Thunderbolt , Conquest of the Reich!

Just seen it on the History Channel on NTL 504 (UK).

Crystal clear colour footage, and the gun camera footage was the same you could see the horse drawn carts they were shooting up!

And an attack on a german airfield was the same clear as a bell, seeing them getting ready for takeoff you would have thought it was just filmed a year or two ago it was that sharp and clear.

Prior to take off , as they taxi'd along an aircrew man sat on the wing of each ship to give the pilots directions to the runway and to line up before take off.

really amazing colour footage!

Yea, seen it before. Excellent footage of the P-47, along with "A Fighter Pilot's Story".

Head over to www.ww2incolor.com (http://www.ww2incolor.com) and look at the movies section (it's in the image gallery)

There is a stunning 5-minute full colour hi-res movie featuring a lot of Thunderbolt action but the highlights have to be the sequences filmed in-cockpit just over the pilot's shoulder looking through the gunsight!

Also near the start of the movie, there is a scaled-down pre-takeoff check performed in-cockpit with a voice-over.

And it's not just the visuals that make this movie worth the download - the sound is seriously savage. Ah if only we could get .50-cals that sounded like THAT in the game...

Ytareh, sorry for the OT but how is Operation Barbarossa going for you? Hope you are enjoying it as much as I did. Anybody know when Thunderbolt is playing again in the States (Eastern Time)? I'd love to catch it!

Hi Sgilewicz!Barbarossa is going fine ,its good alright.I really like the written intro to each mission, you really sense the despair as the axis forces retreat further and further. At the movies today saw a trailer for the new film about Hitlers final days-looks VERY good.
