Hello everyone ! First of all i just want to mention that my intention is not to sound like a crazy conspiracy guy,I am just curious about your opinions on this subject. And sorry if this has been discussed before.

As i'm sure many of you noticed these things arleady, but in the assassins creed games you can find a few symbols and refferences to the freemasons or illuminati as some people call them.Actualy this is what first captured my atention and made me take a great interest in this game.If you don't know what the freemasons society or illuminati are, you can do a search on the internet ,but probably you will not be interested in this subject.

I'd like you to look at these pictures that you may arleady know and tell me what's your opinion...

I can't believe people are more interested in that kid on the forum who has red drapes in his room,a hoodie in his closet and thinks that he lives in the assassins headquarter......

I thought the illuminati were different to the freemasons?
Anyway, i'm not really sure what you want our opinion on? Sure, the Masonic eye...Um. It's in the game..?

The thing is, these symbols have already been discussed at length since the release of AC1.

There's only so much that can be said about a subject.

That i can understand. Unfortunetly I am new to the forum and didn't have a chance to participate in the discussion.

But why do you think the developers used these symbols in the game?Is there a meaning to it or they just thought it would attract attention ?

I believe they do have something to do with the story, and are clues to certain events and places in the AC story. But even so i don't think the story will go through them in detail.

It's quite obvious that Ubisoft incorporate those symbols into the game because it plays a big role in the games. I'm sure most of us played the side missions of looking for Subject 16's hidden glyphs in AC2 and ACB. One of the themes of the AC games is that history is not what it makes it out to be. That is because of the influences of the Pieces of Eden. There are a ton of conspiracies relating to those symbols in real life to this day still.

Of course ubisoft incorporated the symbols because it plays a big part in the story. But because "There are a ton of conspiracies relating to those symbols in real life to this day still." i am most intrigued .How come they chose to use real symbols instead of creating new ones just for the purpose of the story?

Because the franchise is based on true history and conspiracy theories. They want to link it to the real world, and keep the fans guessing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They are different.. who said they weren't?
Anyhow according to his links should hint that:

1.Assassins symbol: (possibly)Freemasons symbol
2.Abstergo(Templars) symbol: (possibly) Illuminati symbol

Notice it yet?

Freemason's have the same goals as the Templars, and are affiliated with the Illuminati, they used to be completely different though

You know what bothers me ? Templars (Freemasons/Illuminati/whatever you want to call them) exist in real life and have members allover the world affiliated with the most powerful people and control the world.(Not that i have something against this, because it's exactly how it should be.Smart, evolved, enlightened, ambitious people controlling the stupid sheep) And people play Assassins Creed and think that this game is 100 % fiction.

Freemasons and Illuminati do only appear to be Templars in the Assassin's Creed universe. The actual Knights Templar Order was disbanded in 1312. So...

I'd say the Illuminati were Assassins rather than Templars actually.

They were all about freedom of thought. Can't get much closer to the Assassin ideologie than that.

Would make an interesting storyline if the Freemasons were Templars, given the fact that the Illuminati infiltrated the Freemasons and other brotherhoods like it.

Well I think Abstergo are the illuminati if the illuminati are real as they want control and some of the assassanations that dint happen in the game but are part of the story line like JFK who they say was assassinated by the illuminati and in the the guy who assassinated him Is a templar

The illuminati never wanted control. They were all about enlightenment.

You are confusing the illuminati with illuminism. They are not the same thing.

Here you can read about Illuminism (the age of enlightenment) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Enlightenment

The illuminati on the other hand is an order founded in Bavaria by A FREEMASON.It is known that the order of illuminati is long gone but for some reason people still call the organisation that controls the world illuminati.

It's modern conspiracy theorists that first associated the illuminati with world domination and total control. The original Bavarian Illuminati had nothing to with it.

Besides, the Illuminati aren't the only ones to suffer this fate. Pretty much every secret society is now part of some giant plot of world domination. The fact that these societies cannot defend themselves without giving up their entire premise, discreteness, makes them such easy targets. Especially societies that are considered to be long gone.

tbh i dont care whos freemason or illuminate in real life, i belive in God and iv made my choice, they have made theirs, so what they need to ask themselves is what if im right, and their wrong. anyway back to the game, they obviously have a meaning, and abstorgo is the type of company i can imagine using imagery/symbols. before desmond touchs the POE, Shaun says that ' these two symbols come together in one place...' or watever while pointing to the masonic eye, we dont know what place or what they mean to the sides, so there has to be a deeper meaning to it in the story.

I was very excited when Shaun actually said "the masonic eye " ...and when he said "those two come together in only one place ",time froze and i was so disappointed ... I am very curious how they will continue this... The ending in Brotherhood was actually better then ac2's ending because it left me even more anxious to find out what will happen next..I thought that i will have to wait until 2012 for the next Assassins's creed game but when Ubisoft announced it in november it was the best news that I could get.

I see a connection between Freemasons and Assassins, this isn't one of those crazy conspiracy theories it is just simple.

The Freemasons have rites all around the world, and the Freemasons are considered a brotherhood.

The Assassins are all around the world, and the Assassins are considered a brotherhood.
