Oh Gawd, no way it sux. The music alone is worth it. You'll enjoy--it's a true classic! And what a bargain--I got the DVD set through a TV offer about two months ago for a total, with shipping, of $24.95 and thought that was a deal (Last year it was going for $110 at Best Buy.)

Son of a ************** I also paid $24 for the set from the TV commercial!!! Vic at Sea is tremendous. Music, documentary footage...the works. Don't be a nitpicker, though. It was compiled quickly shortly after the end of the War...it was almost certainly the First documentary of any note...thus, they had to use available footage and sometimes the acft don't exactly match the story-line....

But it is a great Series. 26 half-hour episodes(13 hours of viewing pleasure) for only $5.00 is a Steal!!!

It originally aired in 1952 or there abouts. I know my family watched it when it was rerun on NBC (I'm pretty sure) in 1957 or '58--I was about 5 years old anyway. My Dad was a PTO combat vet, and surprisingly, since he hasn't talked much about it since, was pretty interested in the series at that time. And the Richard Rogers score...fantastic! But like Doolittle81 sez, don't mind the inaccuracies. Consider it from the viewpoint of 1952.
