Hello, when doing my latest B25 skin for RAF I noticed there is wery little information regarding B25s in the RAF, and one of the information I could get is that the B25s participated on a attack in Belgium on Oil something if I dont remember wrong, so ofcourse more questions pops up to be answered.. would love is anyone here knows something or has some info over this:

1. Generall info about 180 and 98 Squadron (and 226 and 320 if you have ofcourse)

2. Escort? I asume they had escorts on these raids, but by wich squadron and what type of aircrafts??

3. Opositions, did they loose any planes to fighters and if so, wich units attacked them?

4. Bombing targets, I know of their first and for 98ths part the last mission, but nothing inbetwen. anyone know?

If someone would help we with this I would be wery pleased and happy ofcourse http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

with best regards Chainsaw

Sounds like I need to get that book instead, the outfit I belong to (No 23 squadron) flyed DB7 [A20C] and Mossies during the war, so any info on that is great as well, ewen thoe Im fishing for Mithell info right now, Both A20 and Mossies will be intressting later.

Thank you for the book tip p1ingu666, I will look after it on the net.

Cheers Chainsaw

After losing 3 aircrat on their first raid the Mitchells were stood down for more training but when they got going they were used extensively against all sorts of targets:-

railways
marshalling yards
docks
airfields
V1 sites
bridges
ammo dumps

They used Gee-H to bomb blind as well as visually and also operated at night, both bombing & dropping flares for Mosquitoes.

All the Mitchell squadrons moved to the continent in October 44'.

Spitfires, Typhoons, Mustangs, Thunderbolts, Tempests.

Mitchell losses to 109s & 190s did happen but they were pretty rare occurrences.

As it happens, I'm just finishing off a Kanalfront 1943 campaign and 1 of the missions I wrote was a B-25C raid over Bayeux railyards with a Spit IXc escort. JG26 flies an intercept with 190A-5's.

I should make a note of the squadrons mentioned in your post.

I used an olive green over medium grey US skin as that seems to have been what the initial 43 paint scheme was.
