I have to say that I hate to use the hydrophone now with the new patch. It's simply too fast, now that you click on the wheel, it moves about 3-5 degrees forward, before it only went 1 degree. And the drag option is pretty much useless. It DOES make hydrophone checks faster but it just eats up the fun of using it. Thank you for letting me rant about this, would like to hear your opinions about this too.

PS: Is the sonarman bug fixed? I haven't noticed anything (just started a new career)

yes, the sonarman works fine now. there's even the option to follow the nearest warship which i find very usefull. i noticed the same thing with the sonar, seems to move a little faster.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

A little?
The darn thing spins so fast that you'll lose your fingers if you go and touch it. But to ask you another question, "Dynamic campaign - Add new harbor ships and traffic, including merchants, minefields and patrols" What exactly does this mean, do we actually have ships in ports now? I didn't spot anything when I departed just a minute ago, exept for a lonely torpedoboat about 500m off the port. The cool thing is that I actually ran into a german destroyer on my way to the sea, so the patch did give us more friendly ships but I still don't get what that means.

port traffic is in enemy ports, hasn't been implemented on friendly ports yet.

You are right Baletzan. Hydrophone after last patch is almost useless, too fast, no more precision scanning. I lost all pleasure there. Maybe somebody knows what file in corrupted this element and what to do to fix it back?

If you want traffic in friendly ports, you can get the Harbor Traffic mod. It adds traffic, minefields and sub nets to your ports. Make sure you check your maps to see where the mines and nets are, or you risk getting killed. Or, you can follow your escort out, but that takes a lot of time.

The down side of these mods is that the friendly traffic messes up your time compression, as it gets knocked down every time your watch sees a ship. Also, heavy traffic can slow down your frame rate, so I recommend a high end system if you want to run the heavy version of the harbor traffic mods.
