Most pilots prefer TrackIR or mouse over snap views since it's better for your SA. But if you must have snap views I recomment 8 way hat with: 2, 3, 4, 8 ,9 , 10 o'clock. And shifted for the same directions but upwards. Map 12/6 for up forward/straight up views.

Though I normally use my mouse I utilize my "numeral pad" for 3 things.....

Trim, Bombsight adjustments, snap views.

Ctrl+(1-9) = Trim
Alt+(1-9) = Bombsight
1-9, "+"+(1-9), "-"+(1-9) = snap views

That actually gives me 27 view positions and they are laid out so 8 is dead ahead (12 0'clock) "-" lowers the view, "+" raises it...To set it up, simply press 2 buttons when determining the controls for the +&- views.

Home, Delete, End, Page Up, Page down my zoom.

Whenever I view one of your posts Asas_Portugal, for a brief second, a large image of your avatar flashes across my screen, then it settles down. Interesting; I wonder why it does that. Power of suggestion?

Asas's avatar is originally larger then specified. The UBI hamster detects this and immediately shinks it down to "size according to rule". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

Unfortunately though, Billfish only submits "according to rule" sized avatars (sigh).

When I was using hatswitch I used pan-view with a button mapped to snap back to center. It wasn't as disorienting as snap-view and made tracking easier.
