Thought I'd share this link to a site with some nice photos of the Blue Angels in flight. Several of the photos also include some modern US Navy vessels and the old sailing ship, USS Constitution:

Blue Angels (http://www.bentbay.dk:80/blue_angels.htm)

I suggest turning down the speakers, as the site has a rather loud midi version of Amazing Grace playing in the background, which I found rather annoying. Darn it! Where's my mute button? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

Man they put on one impressive show. I've seen them outside of New Orleans and several times in Seattle. It never gets old watching their precision.

Humhhpp.... the Blue Angles.

They may seen nice to "Joe Civilian", but they're an insult to the rest of the fleet. While we were out there doing the dirty work they were in a plush hotel, eating steak and lobster... and living the good life. At least 50% of the think they're rock or movie stars and they get treated like one everywhere they go.

Send them back to the fleet and serve them a good old slice of Humble Pie from our world famous mess decks.

Thanks for sharing that K61. I wonder if there is a site like that for the Air Force T-Birds

Yep, the AO1 precision team is called the GBU-24B/B and JDAM bomb assembly team. We are so accurate, we could build bombs that can go through a window... without even touching the framework. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Like I said, I think that the Blue Angels are a bunch of prima donnas. That's just my feelings about the lot of them.

I saw the Italian air force special team over here [Canada] a number of years ago. I think they are called the "Tri Colori" or something like that, the Three Colours, a reference to the three colours of the Italian flag. During one flyby they turn on different colour smoke to make their flag in flight. At a static display of aircraft, I climbed aboard a Hercules transport and made my way up to the cockpit. I was just as surprised as the Italian crew that I got that far, as their aircraft was not open for visitors. There were a few awkward moments there as I tried to explain my accidental presence on their flight deck, but they didn't seem to understand my English. Strange, thought they had to speak English to fly. Maybe these guys weren't the actual flight crew.

I heard that the Blue Anles crew changes every year, and that its a different team entirely every year, so, they do the cool stuff, and get treated well, and then get sent back to where ever they should be. So cool down. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Nice photos.

I have the Blue Angels as my desktop screen....flying the missing man formation past Lady Liberty, taken shortly after September 11th 2001.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you didn't rustle this Yank's feathers any http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

In my opinion, each aeronautical acrobatic team is equally talented in their respective make and model of aircraft.
