would be flyin for the japanese side after 42...if confronted with F4U handled by another il2 vet - it would be almost impossible to bring him down when fighting 1 vs 1...

I don't think it will be much different than fighting off a K4 with a P40E. It can be done.

If realistically modeled, the Zero will always be a contender in able hands!

That's the nice part. Challenges. In real life, early war Japanese had the edge, but later in war Japanese pilots often faced dismal odds. If you like realistic options in a sim, historical odds are part of realism.

That's why I dislike online war, even coops, everybody wants to be in the winning side. Nobody wants to ride early stuff such P.11s against 109s, and they ban real planes such as 262, because it 'outbalances' online gaming. And some of the 'gurus' of full realism are surprisingly the most radical at this.

Come on, it's fun to be shot down after a fierce struggling for life -in a sim, obviously.

And don't get too confident against a Zero. Play its turning game, and you're lost, even in a Corsair or whatever.
