After playing AC1, you would find the following article nice to read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashshashin

It's pretty cool. How close the Assassins are in the game and in real life. I never knew "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" was actually a real statement among real life Assassins.

Anyone interested in the Order should read the entire article. You will find many connections between the game and real life history of the Assassins.

I'd also recommend people to read 'Alamut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamut_%281938_novel%29)' by Vladimir Bartol which the dev team for AC1 read & loved http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I got it for Christmas last year, finished it in a week but I haven't read it since... Me-thinks it will get another read soon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Another good book to read is The Assassins: Holy Killers of Islam by Edward Burman for a good historical insight into the Order. Quite a complex group, that lot.

It even has a description of the Assassin's uniform (white robes with red trim) which I've incorporated into the design of my 'Assassin coat'.

I'll try to buy both books and read them soon! I might be a descendant of one of the Assassins or maybe even Hassan himself. My grandma is of Syrian origin and my grandpa is from South Lebanon. I live in the mountains of Lebanon. So, who knows? I might be... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
