My Eject key is mapped to CTRL+E (default)

My 'Bombsight - Increase Velocity' key is mapped to ALT+E

I think you can guess what I always end up doing on the start of a bombing run http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

Does anyone else ever do stuff like this?

yes, but only once - then changed the key mapping to a more fool-proof setup (why do a mistake twice when once is too much already?)

edit: i mapped bombsight control to the insert-page-up, delete-page-down block of keys

No.......Not because I rarely use the keyboard but in fact because the ONLY things I do with the stick (have no seperate throttle or such) is manuever the plane (work ailerons, rudder, and elevator)......All the rest is done with the keyboard so I have it really mapped out well (for me)....Tried mapping stick buttons but because my hands are so small I can't reach anything. So it's right hand on the stick, left on the keyboard even to fire weapons, and to see I switch hands moving the right to the mouse, left taking over the stick.....

Here's my "settings.ini" contents minus skin/weapon choices......Copy yours, and then add this to it and see how it works....

My button mapping occasionally leads to some interesting takeoffs/landings.

There's a whole field devoted to stuff like this

<A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human-Factors_Engineering" TARGET=_blank>
Human Factors Engeering</A>

Most of its common sense, but sometimes switching a lever direction or button placement can make a world of difference.

LOL - usually it's:

"Gear up ! Engine OFF ! ? $*&^#&%^#$^"

When I had a x45 I used in toggle 1 combat mode and with toggle 3 landing mode. A was mapped to cannon and gear up/down, as you can guess, most times I forgot to pass to mode 3 after take of.
It should have been fun for an opponent to see me drop gear in a head on, or watching me miss a bnz pass and dropping parts of my plane over him.

I would pay good money for a track showing a plane being downed by broken bits of langing gear falling on it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well on my Saitek Cyborg i had wing fold and gear down mapped next to each other for PF, that caused some embarassement both getting on and off the carrier

After a year and a half of incident-free flying with "G" for gear up/down and "B" for brakes, in the last two weeks I have suddenly and mysteriously begun to raise my gear once I have landed. To be fair, it DOES slow me down quickly.

Pressing my eject button whilst taxiing and watching my plane trundle off into the distance is one of my funniest online IL2 moments http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

My eject is my backspace key. Big enough to hit quickly, but not near enough to accidentally hit at any other time. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I certainly wouldn`t put it on my joystick!
