We knew that Wilson made in China by hard labor or whatever. This website said that jackets was imported from England.

Hi,

Nice jacket..not nice enough to spend a grand on it but nice nevertheless.

Sort of compounds the fact that the Germans had the best uniforms (although these weren't issued) of WW2 by a long stretch..

Cheers,
Norris

Seems I recall the Germans weren't issued spec jackets as were other air force pilots, they all had custom jackets made for themselves with their rank insignia and medals added. (So . . . any cool jacket decorated as one might see fit could be a "replica" generic German flight jacket.) That's probably why you don't see a "generic" German flight jacket.

Gosh I wish they weren't so expensive I'd look like the coolest kid on campus in that Hartmann jacket.

Didn't Hugo Boss make original German flying garb?

In the UK those jackets retail for 352, funny coincidence that.

Havent you guys noticed these threads sound like advertisements brought on by individuals seeking to "up" their company. Im probably confident in that fact that this thread is very similar to that found on our 'flying' sites.

Hi, I often see in reading that most of Luftwaffee pilots bought "motorcycle rider" jackets from France as I always wonder where Hans-Joachim Marseille got his snappy jacket as he post for picture sometime that lead me to clues where some pilots got them from France. Maybe we can check France leather jacket stores to see if they still stock similar jackets today.
