The lights and smoke are awesome additions!

Would it be possible to consider these changes?

Add a few more lights with different colors: blue, yellow, and orange.

Make it possible to "glue" lights to moving objects. I put lights on a truck and it looked really cool. I even put tail lights on http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

When doing buildings in the future, make the windows simi transparent so we can put a light inside the building.

Add a strobe option so we can put flashing red lights on high structures http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Make lights visible at much longer distances.

If lights are assigned to an army, make them automaticly switch off when enemies are within X kilometers.

Add random flashes. I think it would be awesome to place hundreds of these in the forests so it looks like there is some fighting going on.

Add a small/weak spotlight that can be positioned anywhere so we can add street lights or put them on the front of vehicles as headlamps.

I lit up an entire airfield in FMB. I put white lights on all the windows of the buildings, red lights around the top of the tower, and lights on vehicles. Flying in at 21:00 was awesome!

I actually have two small suggestions for the lights / smoke objects.

For the smoke, it'd be nice to be able to designate a tilt and heading, so I could tilt it over at something like 30 degrees from the ground and point it in a certain direction to simulate wind (smoke almost never rises straight up).

That, and having a slider on the smoke / lights to designate draw distance... and I'm set.

Staionary objects (many of them) have a damaged state. A wreck, or crater blast, whatever.

Make a new set of smoke/fire with a normal state that is invisible, and a damaged state of the smoke/fire.

For lights, add a damaged state where they are off.

Is there colored smoke already ? If not how about colored smoke (to mark targets for airstrikes, own side forces to avoid friendly fire, etc.) ?

need green and pink smoke/light. that is what raf used sometimes

also more complex ones like green changing to red after X amount of time.

also flares (colour of the day) and target marking from planes would be great http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yeah. . . I used them as headlamps and taillamps on some trucks. . pretty cool until I destroyed the trucks and the lights remained in place gloawing like alien orbs hovering over the wreckage!

It may be too late for this, but I think Oleg should consider reworking the buildings/ vehicles to include lights.

I'd have them come on at dusk and turn off at dawn.
I'd have them turn off when enemies are about.
I'd have front marker determine the affiliation of buildings.

I know this would be a lot of work, but believe me, it would be worth the effort.

I lit up almost all of Port Moreseby and the effect was stunning. This NEEDS implementation!
