I love that image, American and German Eagles fighting it out in the sky. Nice artwork.

Probably best to take it as confirmation that the DVII and Spad will be the two flyables then....

Could it be only those two? I remember there was a lot of cockpit pics around some time ago...and how about the Dr.1 for FSX, strange if they aren't going to include that? Not that having just two initially would be a problem, just wondering...

The pits for those are sold separately. No biggie. I look forward to giving them my money.

From the captures and the video, it looks like the game will be on the graphic level of IL-2 1946, with some improvements, like the layout of trees. But nowhere near as detailed as BoB.

Still, I will be buying the game, not very many flight sims out there, and we have to support them or there won't be anymore... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Plus WWI is a favourite era of mine, love to fly those creaking old relics. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

LOL, I didn't read that there would be an Airco D.H.4 in the plane-set. Only a Spad (French) and a DVII (German). Or are we looking at a Flyboys scenario here?

BoB is still so far off that comparisons aren't really appropriate. RoF seems to be a generation after Il-2 (6dof, self casting shadows, dynamic weather and the like) while SoW will be a generation after that - both in it's content and in it's release date.

I think the game looks great and I look forward to it, but I don't like the idea of the American air force as a main player in WW1.

It seems to me a very Flyboys/Hollywood approach that is getting tiresome.

They're a very small studio and need to make money.
I for one am gratefull for anything decent in the WW1 area, it's been too long since RB3D.
In fact I'd pay 100 bucks for those 2 flyables alone, so the whole release plan thingy doesnt bother me that much.

That is a WWI U.S. recruiting poster. They Photoshopped out the original text.

I am awaiting a really great state-of-the-art combat flight sim. I don't care if they pander to the Americans for a start---anything to get the ball in play.

I plan on buying it and the planes.

But holy wow I don't meet the minimal requirements

Processor: CoreDuo (Intel) 2.4 Ghz
RAM : 2Gb
Videocard: 256Mb onboard memory (NVidia GeForce 8600 series or higher)

Correct me if I am wrong, but to me the screenshots, which are amazing, show that the airplane models are not quite as well-rendered as the images we were being shown two years ago.

Funny how the "German" eagle looks almost reptilian. I'm sure that wasn't just a happy coincidence by the artist.

Thats why blue screen renders mean nothing,no matter how realistic.I hope we don't see the same 'dumbing down' of aircraft details for SoW,but they might have to do that just to get the dam game to run properly.
