Here is the call:

I just purchased a Maule sight unseen. It is 20 years old and has 10 hours total time. It has beed sitting outside for 20 years so the owner says it needs some paint and some fabric work. Can you guys go get it, take it back to your shop and get it flying?

REPLY:

Sure, we will take a trailer and go take a look. Here is what we found! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Wait how did this last pic get in here? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif

SO what ya think?

The tail feathers where rusted beyond use and were thrown in the woods. The wheels and brakes were also chuncked. The wings were badly corroded and the wing struts were trashed. The fuselage bottom longerons needed replacing. For what was there, only the engine MAY have been worth anything. The avionics were shot as well as the prop! It would be cheaper to buy a new airplane! We brought it back to our shop but never did anything with it and the owner drove all the way down from Idaho and trailered it home. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Thats not it in the last pic. I just threw that one in there because of the girl!

The "new" owner came and got what was left of the airplane. I am sure he scraped it and licked his wounds!

It might not be a total loss, if he's also a sim pilot he could cut it up and use the cabin as a sim pit.
