Myself and several of the other BlitzPigs go every year.

It's always a great show.

55 years later and you can still buy a brand new C-130.
I think it's a record of some sort. It's an unbroken production run.

American flag with German para and trooper next to it. Looks like a contradiction.

p.s. Interesting twiddles you managed to make on the side of the thread title. Never seen that before.

They did a WW2 reenactment with German troops. Maybe the enemy needed a smoke too? :/

Great show, even though the plane count was down compared to previous years.

Yeah it seems that a lot of planes didn't fly. None the less a great show and a ton of people showed up. At least the refreshments were cheaper. People still left right after the Blue Angels were done. The show organizers are trying to get people to stick around longer but that heat and direct sunlight is almost unbearable on the field. So... wondering when the new museum is going to be done... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Probably never as the museum directors have delusions of grandeur and the plans kept getting bigger and bigger. Too bad the airshow isn't like what it was back in '04,05 but from the unfriendlies at the airport to the museum to the county and just sheer bad luck that always seems to happen the airshow just doesn't seem what it used to be.

Yeah i somewhat agree and have been suspicious for years.
When i paid "at the gate" this year for example, didnt even get a receipt, or stamp on the hand or anything. $25 a ticket and $10 to park. Went with my girlfriend. Basically it was "that'll be $60 have a nice time".
I know, it's been like that for years. And i'm almost certain everytime i didn't see a cash register. Not calling anyone a thief but makes me wonder how much of the money was actually tallied and turned in. I don't mean to offend anyone, the Yankee Air Museum has put on great shows over the years and does outstanding work.
Just wish they would cut the b.s and get on with the "new museum" already. Been waiting for over 20 years i think...

Detroit area. XwartornX sadly some of that money at the gate is stolen so not all of it goes to the museum and the budget for the airshow. The kick in the nuts about the museum is they actually have the original blueprints of the original hanger, build two of those and a third building in regards to the history of the airport especially during WWII and you could have yourself a nice museum again. Instead they have this grandious $55 million dollar+ idea which includes a highschool http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif, hotel, theater, move the airpark (not sure how) and so on. The Kalamazoo airzoo has a lot of private money that has gone to that one, the Yankee doesn't so not sure where they are going to get the money to complete the project. I loved my time there, especially working with some of the vets but it just isn't the same though it could be if they get the right people in there, its got potential just needs someone to bring that potential to reality.
