Top photos. Is it just me or does it look like some one's getting bombed in the background of those floater photos?

BIGGER floater!

Don't think they are getting bombed, that's just normal smoke from factories.

Floatplane Bolingbroke:

What would the wires be; going from the fuselage to the floats?

Look at that! They didn't even bother to brush the rough dirt from the top of the wings (around the wingroot). Just "splash" the white on, boys!

All the D-Day strips were hand painted in the field. My Dad stationed in England ready to go over on D-Day, seen 100's of planes painted this way.

Skinners take note.

How much airspeed reduction did the floats add?

That's OK...when I saw ploughman write "look like some one's getting bombed in the background" I immediately rushed back and started looking for the guys with the bottles in their hands. Only then did I see the puffs of dust and realize what he meanthttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
