I recently added the [Dgen] line--along with the tweaks--to il2's conf.ini file. I have discovered That I don't like the tweaks and want to set the game back to its default settings: the settings used before I added the [dgen] line. How do I do this? Is it as simple as deleting the [Dgen] tags along with everything below--relating to--it?

Reinstall the game to a different path/location. Copy the ini file back to where you want it. Delete the second installation.

Probably not.
But it is likely the quickest way. Had you started you would have been finished by now. So the take away lesson is to keep a backup of such important files. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes, deleting the DGEN section should work. I have checked my conf.ini and there is no DGEN section in the default file (Mind, I have not played any dynamic campaingns).
Just remember to backup the file this time - if something goes wrong you can always revert back to the one with tweaks.
Or you can always re-install the game to the same directory and ovwerwrite everything (just keep the saves, mods and any additional content).
I woul also recommend backing up the files in the Users directory - to save whatever specific button assignments you had (unless you want to re-map everything from scratch)

I just uploaded clean default (no tweaks of any kind) conf.ini for you if you need it. Took me about 15 sec. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .

Thank you, DKoor, I already have the default conf.ini file, though. What I'm paranoid about is if the dgen stuff screwed the game even though I deleted the dgen section, which was only a few lines. Thank you for your effort thoughhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I will probably just reinstall tomorrowhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
