View Full Version : How to recognize a bad or newbie pilot online?

Tvrdi
04-16-2005, 10:25 AM
its simple:

1. Hes always flyin a Spit
2. Hes makin the same stupid mistakes (on example when ur behind him he will turn and u dont follow this and hes under u catching his tail like a cat....then u dive on him and hes history,..or when u see him chasin u for long time just to be blowed from the sky by ur wingie..etc etc)
3. hes flyin low and furious

cure for this?

dear newbie/bad pilot.....ask ur frined who is a il2 vet or better pilot than u....take P47, or P51 or BF109 and follow his lessons....he will teach u the tricks and how to handle ur plane....i wish u all the best

but in the other hand if u all be teached there wouldnt be any fun left for us in the spit vs bf109 server http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

You can reckognize a newbie pilot when he is making a post like Tvrdi http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/351.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

About the Me109 I`m not so sure.Maybe it applies to Emil and G6early only.

The Spitfire IX is so great B&Zmachine that I can`t help but wonder why their pilots go into dogfights.IX retains energy so fast that it is close to P47 in B&Z department.

And a message for Yak n00b drivers:don`t follow me in spiral climb if you want to be safe.

Cuz they always follow and they always have to run away but it is already too late. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

"u" does not equal "you". This is a forum, not chat. You have plenty of time to spell out the words.

Spit drivers are not all noobs.

I'm getting a little tired of reading this and I'm sure they are too.

IMO, most people probably fly Spits because it's their favorite ride - just like any other person flys any other plane.

Sure, Spits currently get a free pass in a couple of areas, but I wouldn't want to be in one on a full switch server where good pilots are flying FW190s and 109s against them using proper tactics.

Wanna find a real noob?

Go to a WW server and see all the gamers flying the La-7x3.

BuzzU

I guess Kozhedub was a noob?

I have to wonder if the La7 was a German plane if all the Luft dudes would be flying it, and saying how great it is? Like they do with the 109/190 now.

There are no noob planes. There are some planes better than others.

btw..If you're new to the sim. Are you expected to take the hardest plane to fly?

Firstly I actually feel stupider for having read this BS.

Secondly if he is flying a spitfire on a spitfire v 109 server isn't that kind of the point or do you want every one to fly 109 ?

Thirdly this spitz for noobs sh1t has gone beyond funny of late get a new soap box or fack off.

I'm an ubernoob and proud of it.

Unfortunately (according to Tvrdi) my ubernoob status must be in question now since I fly Cobras, P-40's, and Stormoviks rather than Spitfires.

Someday I hope to be bad enough to rate a Spitfire. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Plane choice is a minor point. There are pilots online who are proficient with the Spitfire and I'd like to say that I'm one of them. But the Spitfire isn't the only plane I fly...and when I do its rarely in the weeds.

Most new pilots over control their planes, chase after the first target they see, hold the trigger down without regard, and tend to be as dangerous to themselves as they are to any potential target. They are learning...leave them be...but I wouldn't take any **** from them either.

If you're a new pilot, try and pay attention to the rules and pay attention to the situation. You can screw everything else up.

I measure a person's skill by how close he comes to landing his plane after I take the tips of his wings off...

Actually, you can recognise the bad/new pilots because they all fly the 109's with either incorrect or no national markings because the think it will give them the edge http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif.

the problem lays in dog missions...there u got non-historical situations by default...dogfigting almost always at low.....turns turns turns....respawns....bases are close....in COOPS wer closer to what happened in the air in WW2...maybe i shouldnt fly any dog because i dont see any fun anymore....my first online flight was back in 2001. The problem is that coops are rare now...

last two times i used spit (rare occasions, cause i fly for both sides but avoiding spit when im on the red side..i use p47 or p51 then) i got 4 kills in a row.....wher is the fun for the vet after such 5000 victories (and u have a better online vet pilots than me of course http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

hope things would change after 4.0 for all of us

I find it rather hard to survive in a Spit - they're slow & you never know when someone is coming at you at march3 lol. You can out-turn the Bfs & FWs but you can't catch them. IMHO it's not a n00b-ride - it's a teamplayer's ride.

This was a common chat-bar exchange a couple of years ago....

n00b06: how do u start engines in 262?
Blitzpig-Lixma: You have to assign keys in the controls menu.
n00b06: ok thnx.
n00b06 fries in his cockpit.
n00b06: lol
n00b06 exits the game.

Once I setup port forwarding and other such things on my network I'll be hosting COOPs on a regular basis (on HL) using modified missions that I've been building for single player (and new ones).

Hyper..you forgot the one where the noob accuses you of cheating because you bnz'd them.

<snip>
>'xy cuts off noob's wing'
>noob: How come you were able to go so fast - you are cheating
>xy: Of course. The fact that I came in from 3000m above you has nothing to do with it
>noob: no you didn't. you cheated. this server is **** and so are all the ****ing cheating pilots in it
>noob leaves the game
>all : LOL
</snip>

I know quite a few Spit pilots who are far from noobs and they fly it simply because they want to.

It seems that the Spit is getting the same reputation that the Ki-84 had...which resulted in it disappearing from a lot of servers for no other reason than people didn't like to be shot down by it.

Seems to me that the Spitfire is being slated for all the wrong reasons.

Too me the Spitfire is and should be the kind of aircraft that enables the pilot (with a minimal amount of cockpit time) to get on with the business of flying and fighting with out the hinderance of constant engine management and attention to the mechanics and minuta of flying theory. And to some extent that is exactley what it does it empowers the pilot by freeing him of certain responsibilities that other aircraft demand of their pilots.

Now that to me indicates that the Spitfire is indeed a Noob plane and that is exactley what it was intended to be!! An aircraft that enabled young inexperianced pilots to get up there and fight ,not faff about re-learning to fly in such and such a manner, but fight and present as much resistance to the enemy as possible. In fact that to me was one of the reason's it was so successful as a combat vehicle.

If you want to spend your time monitoring your fuel temperature airspeed formation position ect ect that is fine but dont go complaining that you got shot down simply because you chose to fly a more complicated and difficult ride. You get what you pay for and with a Spitfire it does exactley what it did and was supposed to do WIN THE AIR WAR against all odds with the minimum required ammount of training and experiance.

I fly a Spitfire and I do so because I am proud of it and what it represents and if I get shot down then it was my fault not because of some grace saving percieved illusion of my opponents unfair advantage!! And if I or anyone else shoot you down its because you were stupid enough to tangle with a Spitfire on its terms and not your own.

So remember If you bring a spoon to a knife fight sooner or later your gona get cut!

Now bloody well deal with it and make your choice.

Fight or Fly.

I choose to fight and given the choice I choose a Spitfire.

So up yours pal !!

As the saying goes..."it does exactly what it says on the tin"

I fly it because i like tea, Spitfires and naughty women

Oh! and it reminds me of summer, swallows, the smell of freshly cut grass, women in summer dresses, cricket, warm and tasty beer, but most of all FREEDOM
