Here is a good question: If this is called Wolfes of the Pacific, why is the first screenshot of a fleet sub going past the Statue of Liberty? That is out of New York in the Atlantic!

Speaking of which, I haven't had my U-boat visit New York yet. Did the developers have fun and put the Statue of Liberty up to see?

Are they doing anything with those screenshots to make them look like an old movie? Or is that the way the game looks? I like the realistic style of 3 better I think.

Indeed they did - went there on a very early career, while playing on low realism with unlimited fuel. The approaches to NYC are really heavily guarded but if you can sink or avoid the DDs/Armed Trawlers/Elcos you are rewarded with a great view of Lady Liberty and qute a few high tonnages merchants or tankers. Sadly at the time I was a complete noob and didn't know how to take screenshots. I may go back sometime, though....

Thats what is called post processing effect.

It is supposed to give a cinematic feeling and was already used for games like the Silent Hill series.

Its a question of getting used to it but some people dont like it at all thats why it was made on/off switchable in Silent Hill.

I believe its also quite hardware hungry so im sure this will be an deactivatable graphics option.
