It's great that we have almost all fighters with cockpit by now (in AEP) but the bombers have rarely been done. So AI-servers is the only chance to get them into the air.

I persoanlly love hitting ships with 6xFAB500s from my Tu-2 or take out the entire AAA of an airfield with a single 5000kg bomb. Also hitting enemy bombers with the BK4 40mm cannon of the Me210 is great fun (although you need a lot of practice form the external view).

I'd like to see more dogfight servers which offer AI-planes online.

So, how do you feel about that???

For anybody who wants to know how to enable ai-planes in dogfight games, here's the description:

I would like to see AI controled planes in DF servers, like offline or in coop......

indeed, that would be great, too

I have proposed this before.

1. Allow players to spawm flights of up to four aircraft in online dogfight servers. This would be their own aircraft plus three ai wingmen. Scripted maps would benefit from this as bomber flights could be larger.

2. Allow the use of wingmen commands and communication with the ground control on dogfight maps. Radio chatter would certainly add to the enjoyment of dogfight servers.

What about the lag issue? Used to be in IL2 the addition of AI would lag the hell outta the game.
I was in a DF online and spotted a zwilling, kind of fun pounding it. I didnt notice the lag, if they are preloaded does that help?

In COOPs sure...but even then we are trying to get 100% humans behind the wheel. On DF server - No

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

That depends Ivan, for DF server I say no but in COOPs 100% humans is not what all map builders and hosts want http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. I'm a fan of true coops where you have all humans on one side vs AI only. This setup is very well suited for real bomber intercept missions. 8 human Bf-110G2's vs 18+ B-17G's over Berlin (city, not just the map) with 12+ 88mm's assisting is always fun http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/smileys-gun2.gif.

I build COOPs for CrazyIvan. If you would like some of them you can get them at http://www14.brinkster.com/triggerhappy770/default.htm

I/JG1 Oesau is recruiting axis pilots who prefer to fly maximum realism. We accept both veterans and rookies. We fly in VEF2, VOW and may join other online wars in the future. Go to our forums at http://www.jg1-oesau.org/ for more details and to apply.

Well, for those type of missions, yes i agree MD. But wouldn`t you say that human opposition is whole alot more challenging then AI? I noticed, that human factor is really breaking factor in the COOP, AI just don`t it well.

18+ B-17's in a tight formation is plenty challenging for most people. Every time I run that particular mission no more than 3 of the 8 Bf-110's make it home in something even slightly resembling flyable condition. Fighter wise yes the AI does very badly but with bombers it is not a problem.

That`s why i said "For those type of missions i agree" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

In the same time... imagine 6-8 ponies covering those B-17s http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif or Jugs.. ohhh the horror!! Hehehe. But i see your point tho.
