Just installed an ATI X800SE PCI-e card on my Dimension 8400 and I'm here to tell you that it runs Pacific Aces like butter. Oh my gosh!!! The water looks like you could jump in and the frame rates must be way up there, even in perfect mode. Questions...does anyone with a similar card have any tweaking suggestions? How do you check fps?

Use FRAPS to check fps.

...or the built in FPS-meter:

shift+tab -> fps START SHOW [enter]

Sound good, thats the machine Im looking at BUT:

can you do a (Historical) dogfight with 50 fighters in "less than perfect" mode, and still not go below 30 frames?

Over land?

Thats the true test! How about 100 bombers and 30 some fighters. ALA: Flying Tiger missions??

I'm a proud owner of an x800Xt and I'm here to tell you I can run a dogfight with 32 planes, over land in perfect mode and it won't break a sweat.

It looks just as good on my son's machine in perfect but with about a 20 fps decrease. His rig is a P4 3ghz.
