When autopilot is engaged, the flap handle moves outside of the cockpit! No biggie, just thought I would report it.

Enguaging the flaps on an F4U when the autopilot is operating can be dangerous. As a safty precaution the Vought designers decided to move it out side the cockpit when the autopilot was operating. Having to open the canopy to enguage the flaps while in auto was one of those design features that really set the vought designers ahead of the rest and made them world leaders in the variable position control field of the 1940's.

That´s why original ideas are allways so unexpected.....

Unfortunately in the late 1940's the development division was disbanded after it design and constructed and deployed the 'MK1 Executive Toilet Facility' (ETF Mk1-A1-6) That repositioned the toilet paper dispenser outside the cubical when the bowl entered the 'not-empty' state.

Sorry to all for so rapidly decending into toilet humor ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
