Allrighty, I am finishing off with a very unexciting current patrol in the southern England. The next patrol I intend to use as a basis for a patrol report. So, where should I go? I do have limited fuel, mind you, and I start out of Wilhelmshaven, January or early Feb of 1940...

Try to make it to the Arctic circle on ahead slow and wait for an opportunity there?

Patrol an area roughly between Scapa Flow and Iceland?

The famous run between grid AM52 and the smallow area to the NW of it and back?

Go south from Loch Ewe, along the Western part of Scotland?

An area of your preference? (Please name it)

I don't know yet if i want to do the Channel run or not. Something tells me it will not be very eventful or exciting

Between Orkneys and Shetlands, then around the Hebrides to the AM areas north or Ireland, and towards the narrows leading to the Clyde and the Irish Sea. If you're feeling brave you can carry on through down the Irish Sea to the Bristol Channel/Celtic Sea region (BFs). Then depending on fuel, back home carefully up the English Channel, North Sea and home, or, if you still have torpedoes and fuel, either back up the Irish Sea (or around the outside of Ireland) and back through the Orkneys/Shetland gap down the North Sea and home.
