Just had one of those REALLY **** nights. Half an hour, own looked a damn noob. Went and watched Bomber Crew, thought it'd cool me off. Nah! I flew the MC 205 the whole time. LAST NIGHT, I shot down myriads of planes in it, now I couldn't friggin hit an elephant! And the one good time I had for a shot, the F'in cannons wouldn't fire! P!ssed doesn't describe it. I decided the hang up the flying cap for the night, before I smash something http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

How do you feel about the game? for example do you se il2 as just a fun game or a competition?, couse if you allways play the game with a competition mentality you will not be able to give your all, couse then you will just focus on as you say "shoting down myriads of planes", you just get achievement anxiety and then you are doomed and it will all go stright to hell.

Just dont take the game to serius and
i can guarantee you that eavrything goes much better, be glad when you shoot someone down and be glad when getting shoot down http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif , then you can se what you did wrong.

I know what do you mean.
Few days ago it happend to me to. In 16 sorties with Tempest I didn't shot down anything at all.

Simply it wasn't my day.

Everyone has days like this. Dont worry about it, take a break (a few hours/a day) and come back.

Some days I am so good I can shoot down 3 or 4 planes in a row with minor bursts, other times I can empty the whole load into one aircraft and still not hit him, only them to be presented with a perfect shot when out of ammo.

The good thing is, unlike real war, you don't actually die if you have a bad day http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I bet everyone has one of these days. I fly a certain plane online and sometimes I can rack up kills like nothing, and some nights I'm lucky if I even scratch the pain on someone. It makes me wonder if I was just lucky prior before.

I believe FO Dark has it right. Has a lot to do with your focus of flying in the combat zone and the aggressiveness. In documentaries, I keep hearing the constant saying over and over again from WW2 pilots. You have to have a sense of cockiness, feeling that you're the best, and that you must be aggressive while knowing the tactics. However, since we know this is a game we feel at ease while flying sometimes, while at other times we may feel that extra focus of shooting down that bandit.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

I think we all pretty much have those days.

This is the best piece of advice I can offer about playing IL2: Play only when you are rested. Being even slightly sleepy will hinder your performance. Get rest before you play. I am only 20 years old and I think you can imagine my frustrations when trying to play this game at 1 or 2 in the morning. I'm useless. But if I wake up the next day and start playing I am a brutal slayer!

Especially against those USN planes!

Ah...my mentality would probably be hope fun, have laughs with mates, and some kills to get me that sense of acheivement. However, if I just get shot down once after the other, with no hope, then I tend to get angry. Hopefully I'll do better tonight http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When we are playing LAN sessios with m8s we start and end sessions with real fun arcade AIRGUAKE sets just to blow some steam out. Dang. It sure helps after some frustrating COOPs!!!

yeah i've had one of those days like everybody else, and recently i had one of those WEEKS. After missing every target consistently, making stupid mistakes all the time(especially cocking up landings)I realised that i need a break, after all, this game has not been off my hard drive since i got it... so i've hung up my googles for awhile at the mo and am sniffing the air, playing Homeworld (of all things)again and generally taking a break. Fully recommend it!
