Hello everyone:

Anyone knows where I can get or has a good WWII map atlas? I'm going to purchase some WWII books and will need an atlas to check the places where battles were fought, because when they mention cities or places I go like http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif

And mostly because if I use a new atlas.. lots of places aren't called the same as back then in WWII.

Thanks a lot..

One word, so I can show you I relate to the need for accurate '30s-'40s maps:

Yeah...

When I started playing the original IL2, whe nfighting in the Crimea... I had No god darn clue where that place was, I didn't even know there was some place on earth called Crimea.. lol.. I have a bad case of atlas illiteratecy.

I "discovered" where Crimea was thanks to a map that came in a NG magazine, and I had to LOOK for a place that looked just like the Crimea map i IL-2 and voila.. I found it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

It would be nice to find a WWII atlas with the names of the places back then and the new names.

Hell I didn't even know where leningrad was and Still don't know where stalingrad "or whatever new name it has now)is or was.

But ask me about the best bars and strip joints in TJ are? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

So where in the world do you live? I live in Canada and our major book chain, Chapters, had a great Military Atlas of WWII for sale at Christmas for $24.99 (of which I bought of course). The author is Chris Bishop and is published by Amber publishing.

Hope this helps!

I was able to get replicas but they are getting expensive. I sold my last book wwii atlas on ebay a few weeks ago and have not bothered to restock because price went up. Check Barnes & Noble. They carry a sweetheart book of european front. Its big and pretty. I can't beat thier price on it. Kinda sucks.
