When your PC reboots you lose connection with the server. The server see you as "warping" and the "Max lag" check thingy triggers the the kick. Cheating message is nothing but lag warning. They just chosed the wrong words and scare a lot of people. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

About the reason for the reboots. Sorry. I have no clue. The Specialists in the "Comunity Help" forum http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif may be able to help you.

yeah no one should be able to tell another how to go about their business.

We had a thread recently with the intention of supporting the people in Glasgow in the face of that terrorist attack - it rapidly degenerated into a historical accounting of the IRA's vs GB's strife over the last several decades with much accrimony and fingerpointing...old wounds take a long time to heal if they ever do.

So I was going to note that and then decided against it - it's just bad timing or coincidence and no ones at fault or to blame - call yourself whatever you want of course.

BTW are you the Mr Hennesy from the link on your sig. If so please get yer tongue outa the RUC's backside and relabel those pics on the site. Or tell me how come the loyalist and republican terrorist happens be the same guy and dressed in British army issue DPM's and RUC gloves/boots. Should be labeled "RUC photo-op".

A username such as this on a forum dont piss me off but disinformation/muck spreaders of the press like "Mr Hennesy" Do. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

people just making something of it that its not.
just an excuse to have an argument.

belfastkiller is just a nick nothing to do with the troubles.
i have had this nick for near 3 years only here have i had people making comments about it.

i have a huge family myself and have had lost family members threw the troubles

if some one had the same nick no matter what part of the community they are from i would not take a disliking to the name it dont bother me its what the name means to them

so what if you dont like it you probably find some thing else to dislike

Yes Megile, but there is a world of difference in me dealing with a fascist who is trying to dictate what is on my website in a pretty agressive and threatening manner and tone(the local subtleties and nuances would be lost on most of those in this forum), and me questioning why someone would choose a name that can be construed as (slightly) offensive given the local history of Belfast and the not too distant amount of real and brutal killings that were carried out there over a period of 35 years.

I can assure you that the fascist was very clearly identifying himself as a member, of a particular faction, well used to making veiled threats that on paper look innocuous enough.

i still say sorry for offending who ever it has offended.
its only insensitive if you make it .
take the likes of sniper elite belfastsniper i would use that as a in game nick as its a sniper game.
not to offend anyone
ive tryed using lots of nicks in other games and all have been taken
it does not offend me its just a nick.
may be i should have added of the air or sky to the end witch would have been more suitable.
it was just a nick that poped into my head after

I presume you would sort the Sunday World out then if you had your way eh?

You don't particularly like the press because it doesn't report things the way YOU would like.

Maybe if you were as powerful as, say, Robert Mugabe, you could do something about it.
Close all the papers down and only allow ones that print what YOU want to operate....I think I see a pattern here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Let the man play. This is just a game.

You know how it is when you try to register a nick name. You think hard and come up with a cool nick. then the website tels you shove it because is taken. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
You think again and try and again and again. At some point the website will accept it and you are stuck with it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I've seen many names in many games from Hitler, to Stalin, and all kind of things.

This is just a game. Just let the man play. Don't bring your politics in it.

The nick may have been made innocently enough, but words do mean things, and certain words have strong negative associations to some people. If a student from Virginia Tech signed on as 'VirginiaTechKiller' he or she would (rightfully) catch a lot of grief. Same if someone from Iraq chose 'BaghdadBomber'. Maybe extreme and unlikely examples, but the same idea.

Most of you must be British, because this is so Anally PC that if you opened your mouths we could see the toilet paper being wiped across the back of your throats..........

Give the guy a break............

where do you want to start, Squads using the numbers of German Squadrons could be percieved as Glorification of the Third Reich and all that stands for, the insistance of using the Swastika on your skins again could be read the wrong way........... Life is never cut and dried, one can read into anything a different meaning..................

4 out of 10 drivers killed on the road are drunk in charge....... that can be read as its safer to drive pissed as the other 6 and the higher proportion of the 10 were stone cold sober...........

I do think some people here should not cast the first stone before looking at some of their own fopars........

Considering the possibility that some nicks might be offensive - how about: "Oklahoma Bomber?" "WTC-crasher?" "Baby-Basher?" Those are mild compared to some the over-the-top possibilities but I can see the argument for sensitivity towards persecuted or endangered groups. It's a matter of personal taste it appears because belfastkiller has apparently survived 3 years. The head of security where I work was decorated by the Queen (for what that's worth) because of his work in Ireland. I'll have to ask him sometime if he would be offended by that nick. we used to have Steak and Kidney Puddings in the Compo Rations or Rat Packs as we called them, ( MRTE) they were in tins and were known throughout the Military as Babies Heads, cause when you opened the tins when cooked the Suet just looked like the top of a babies head and when sliced off the filling looked about right too...... Does that make us all bad people? I think not, just a sick sense of Humour as indicitive of the British Forces........ Your comment reminds me of a line in one of Pink Floyd's songs where the song writer's family received a thank you from "Good old King George signed with his own personal rubber stamp" after the death of the writer's war-hero Dad.

what I was trying to get across perhaps a little bluntly was the fact that things can be seen in different ways.......... from the Humble Steak and Kid Pudding to a nickname.... both can offend or be seen as what they are....... nothing more than a delicious meal and a name based on a shortening of his desire to infer his home town and the fact he is a steely eyed gaming killer..........
both can be seen in a different light as you can now see..

But for the people in here to denounce him for something he has used in the forums for years, just to be politcally correct and so they can sleep better at night is morally and totally wrong, this guy has done absolutly nothing wrong, indeed he even asked for the thread to be removed to prevent others from getting the wrong Ideas, Kudos to him....

No doubt you will never be able to sit down to a Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney Pudding again in the same light, and for that I am sorry...

And no, I am as sober as the day I was born....

My brother in law's mum has a printed "ta' very much' from the king for putting up refugees during the war that's signed by Elizabeth R (took a while to get around to it I guess) and it's her own actual signature make no mistake, none of this rubber stamped malarky. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I believe all objectionable Pseudonyms should be written as anagrams because our members are way to lazy and utterly incapable of figuring them out.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Here is a hint what a anagram is...

both can be seen in a different light as you can now see..

You are quite right, words can mean different things to different people in different contexts. That is the whole point.

Imagine this situation, you have a new girlfriend and you are going to visit her parents for the first time. They serve steak and kidney pie. Do you shout out, "MMMmmm, babies heads" ?

As was mentioned early, words mean things. In fact, nobody actually told him to change his nick. However, quite a few people told him that they found his nick either insensitive or offensive. How is that being PC? They are just informing him of how his nick is being taken. Maybe bk didn't mean any offense and was totally oblivious to the possible offense it could cause. Well, now he knows and he can either choose to change it or continue using it and risk causing offense to others. His choice.

If I was jewish and considered myself an online killer and used the name "JewKiller" how do you think that would go down?
